The Reptile Attic was born out of love for all things reptiles, animals, rocks, and plants! It's a passion we've made part of our family. 🙋‍♂️ My name is Brandon and I am one of the faces behind TRA, but I wouldn't be able to share all of this without my partner, Aaron. Together we reside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with our two dogs, 13 scaly babies, 4 thousand isopods, all the plants, some crickets, and some Dubia roaches- together we call our ecosystem- The Reptile Attic, Welcome! 🪴 ✨

In 2023, we witnessed the emergence of some exquisite baby dragons, hinting at what 2024, the year of the dragon, may hold. 🦎 Among the stunning lineup were both male and female Uroplatus Ebenaui, the tiniest of leaf-tail geckos. While the Satantic Leaf Tail Gecko (Uroplatus Phantasticus) remains a favorite, species like Skiroae and Fimbriatus also captivated with their beauty. Do you have a preference among these remarkable creatures? 🤔

In 2023, the first year of Project Ebenaui was truly remarkable. These adorable creatures have been carefully looked after since the beginning. 🦖 But what should you feed something so tiny? Well, we opted for calcium or vitamin-coated flightless fruit flies, until they are large enough to handle pinhead crickets - which doesn't take long due to their insatiable appetite and swift reactions to food. Some of our 2023 offspring are looking for new branches- Check our Bio for more info ✨

It's truly a privilege to nurture and coexist with such captivating animals ✨

Introducing the dynamic duo that started it all, Hades and Persephone, two exquisite examples of Uroplatus Ebenaui, known as the Spear-Point Leaf Tail Gecko, from the fantastic 🐲 Originating from the northern regions of Madagascar, where the environment tends to be a bit drier, this species is remarkably resilient. Acquired in November of 2022, we nurtured these two remarkable creatures before pairing them to produce some magnificent offspring in 2023! Swipe to the last image to see a glimpse of a content and cheerful Persephone - when feeling stressed or threatened, the Ebenaui reveals its dark buccal membrane. She wasn't too pleased when I disturbed her slumber for photos - Ebenaui are crepuscular creatures, meaning they are most active at dawn and dusk - truly a fascinating species! 🦎
