We had some great discussion with our 2nd Dog Nerd Book Club this past week, ranging from how to help our high-energy dogs settle to breed differences in approaching some of the exercises included in the book. Please come join us for the next meeting on Friday, September 25th! September's read is "Tales of Two Species: Essays on Loving and Living with Dogs" by Patricia McConnell.

Some quick reminders about Dog Nerd Book Club --

What it is:
- A monthly group that meets every Fourth Friday at 8pm Eastern time to discuss a book about dogs and dog training
- Virtual meetings at first for ease of access, but the possibility of in-person gatherings can definitely be considered with enough interest
- Books can be recommended by anyone who has joined or wishes to join
- Prompts will be posted/emailed the week before to get folks thinking about topics to share
- Link will be shared via email to those who RSVPed 24 hours in advance

Who it's for:
- Open to professionals and pet parents alike as we can all benefit and learn from each other's perspectives and takeaways
- AMPP Members and those still considering AMPP so you can meet current participants
- Ages 18+
- Anyone who has started the book is welcome: we know life gets busy and sometimes we can't finish a book in a month -- please join anyway and chime in!

Looking forward to seeing you this month on Friday, September 25th at 8pm Eastern time to discuss "Tales of Two Species"!

Sending a huge thank you to everyone who came out for our inaugural Dog Nerd Book Club this past week! We had some great discussion about the book (and also our own experiences with our pups!) and are looking forward to getting together again on Friday, August 28th for the next round. For our next book, the group decided to focus in on training techniques with "Mission Control: How to Train the High Drive Dog" by Jane Ardern.
