Learning is Everywhere! For the month of May, the focus is on learning at the grocery store. A list of recommended books on this subject can be found on the PA Promise for Children website. https://papromiseforchildren.com/learning-is-everywhere/learning-is-everywhere-may/
There are a number of everyday activities you can do with your child to stimulate social-emotional development. The next time you visit the grocery store, use expressive words to describe different grocery items to your infant/toddler. Explain how the grocery items are used to make their favorite meal. Have your preschooler cut and paste his/her favorite grocery items from a magazine to make a “favorite foods” picture book and the next time you visit the grocery store, have them search the shelves to identify their favorite foods.
Visit the PA Promise for Children website for additional resources and ideas on how to make learning everywhere a constant staple in your child’s life.
