Annual camping trip day 2!

It’s the first day of our annual all school camping trip!

After working at the this morning, our elective “In Our Glory” : The Photograph as Witness to Black American Life, took a trip to to find old photographs about which they are now writing narratives.

What a beautiful day for our Spring Community Day! Our school is at this morning offering their labor in support of an organization that serves the region!

It’s a beautiful spring day at City of Bridges High School and we are enjoying some sunshine and music at lunch time.

We believe that people of all ages should be out in the world around Pittsburgh taking in the amazing learning opportunities we have, exploring possible futures in our internships and sometimes just sitting in the grass!

It is the start of the third trimester! Bret is introducing The Harlem Book of the Dead by James Van Der Zee, Owen Dodson and Camille Billops for her elective class “In Our Glory”: The Photograph as Witness to Black American Life.

At City of Bridges High School we believe high school students can and should engage with critical and meaningful texts on a deep level.

The second trimester is almost over and everyone is working hard on their demonstrations of learning.

At City of Bridges High School we focus on applying our learning not filling in bubbles on a test.
