City of Bridges High School City of Bridges is a Pittsburgh high school and community of learning that believes we all learn bes

City of Bridges High School arose from an idea, from a need to have a high school that not only prepared high school students to be academically prepared, but also prepared them to become adults who believe in justice and have the skills to make the world a better place. City of Bridges High School has three key design elements:

1. Personalized and Integrated Curriculum: Student will have the opp

ortunity to both explore their interests and to engage with comprehensive cross-curricular content and experiences.
2. Student Agency and Governance: Students will build agency through full engagement with the governance of the school, including positions on the Board of Trustees and curriculum committees.
3. Community: Students will provide service to their community and members of the community will share their experience and knowledge in some class periods. City of Bridges High School has four core values:

Knowledge: A School with a diverse and student centered curriculum that both allows students to explore their interests and be prepared to be citizens of the world. Experience: A School where students learn from and with practitioners so that students both do and know. Justice: A School that supports student’s individual agency and their efforts to make the world more just and peaceful. Community: A School where students are full participants in the larger community, students are learning with and from the community.
