The Bradley Center implements the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care developed by Dr. Sandra Bloom. Sanctuary is a treatment and organizational model that is based on understanding trauma. Every staff and resident in care focus on"SELF" - Safety (physical, psychological, social and moral), Emotion management, Loss (traumatic experiences and separation), and the Future (how can things get bett

er?). All members of the Bradley community develop their own Safety Plan to assist them if they are feeling stressed or potentially out-of-control. Staff and residents meet at least twice per day for Community Meeting where feelings are identified, goals for the day are set, and everyone identifies whom they can ask for support in obtaining their goal. Bradley has earned the quality distinction of accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It is also licensed by the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Welfare. Bradley's Vision is to be recognized nationally by families, communities and professionals as a premier behavioral healthcare, education and child welfare organization that promotes the physical, social, emotional, educational and spiritual growth of the children, youth and families that it serves.

Thank you to Staunton Farm Foundation for recently awarding The Bradley Center grant funding to support Family-Centered Engagement and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Capacity Building. 💙

This funding will provide Bradley staff with training to strengthen family engagement, build staff confidence and skills, and cultivate more collaborative, respectful partnerships among youth, caregivers, and Bradley staff.

By enhancing staff skills in family-centered communication and DBT-informed practices, we can better equip caregivers with tools and strategies to support their children, strengthen caregiver-child relationships, and promote greater stability and lasting outcomes for the youth we serve.

We are so grateful to Staunton Farm Foundation for investing in stronger families and brighter futures.

Reflecting on a sun-soaked July for our Insights residents! 🌺✨

Insights is one of four residential units at The Bradley Center, and this past month was full of creativity and adventure for Insights residents. They enjoyed a variety of activities from crafting flower trees and tie-dyeing to playing mini golf and feeding the animals at Keystone Safari.
