Last month, our Grade 8 students took their learning outside the classroom for a day of challenge, connection, and adventure at Camp Guyasuta. 🌿

Set on 175 acres just outside the city, Camp Guyasuta gives students the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences - and its challenge courses are designed to build teamwork, trust, communication, problem-solving, self-confidence, and leadership.

For our Grade 8 students, the day was about more than making it through a ropes course. It was about encouraging one another, working together through unfamiliar challenges, taking risks, and discovering what they can accomplish as a team.

Experiences like these give our students space to grow beyond the classroom - and bring those lessons back with them to Ellis.

That’s a wrap on 2026 Fall Fest at Ellis! 🎃

Our campus was full of painted pumpkins, bounce-house victory laps, face paint, bracelets, and plenty of snacks. Ellis girls ran club tables (shoutout to the Latin Club’s prize wheel), little ones turned pumpkins into masterpieces, and neighbors became friends.

Thank you to the Ellis Family Association for hosting a free, fun-filled afternoon for the whole community!

💚 Once Ellis, always Ellis. What a weekend! We welcomed 115 alumnae back to campus—our largest Reunion Weekend in five years.

From catching up with familiar faces to exploring campus, joining a field hockey scrimmage, and diving into creative workshops and conversations about the future, there were so many ways to reconnect and celebrate what makes Ellis special. Some things change, but the Green & White spirit never does.

We also celebrated three extraordinary alumnae:

✨ Jui Joshi ’81, recipient of the 2026 Sara Frazer Ellis Award, recognizing her community impact and continued commitment to Ellis.

🏆 Heather Skurek ’01 and Dr. Paulette Cutruzzula Dreher ’06, inducted into the Ellis Athletic Hall of Fame for their accomplishments as student-athletes and the leadership they continue to demonstrate.

Congratulations to our honorees, and thank you to everyone who came home to celebrate with us. The years may pass, but the connections we make at Ellis last a lifetime. 💚

This International Day of the Girl, we're celebrating girls and the environments that encourage them to speak up, take on challenges, lead with confidence, and pursue what matters to them.

At Ellis, girls have the space to ask big questions, explore new ideas, take the lead, and see themselves in every possibility—from the lab to the stage, the athletic field to the boardroom.

Girls already have powerful voices, bold ideas, and big dreams. Our job is to listen, encourage, and challenge them, and to give them every opportunity to strengthen and use those voices as they pursue what's possible. Today and every day, here's to girls and all they bring to the world.

We’re so proud of Jordan and all she’s accomplishing! From athletics and academics to environmental advocacy and community service, she’s a wonderful example of one of many Ellis students making a difference. Congratulations, Jordan, on this well-deserved recognition!

Meet Jordan Evans, our communications lead on the Pittsburgh Tomorrow Leadership Corps Youth Board this year!

Jordan is a senior at the Ellis School and a Cum Laude Society inductee. She captains the varsity field hockey and lacrosse teams, lettering each year and earning multiple Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League honors.

She is also a Medallion Ball candidate with nearly 200 community service hours. She does year-round trail work in Pittsburgh's parks with the Student Conservation Association and serves as a lead Water Challenge Ambassador for EarthEcho International.

Next year, Jordan heads to Kenyon College to play lacrosse and study environmental science and neuroscience.

Senior Night is always a little sweeter when the stands are full of the people who have cheered you on along the way.

Last week, we celebrated our Cross Country, Soccer, and Tennis seniors with teammates, friends, families, and plenty of enthusiastic sideline support. And before the Varsity Field Hockey game, our Middle School Soccer and Field Hockey teams made sure the cheering started early!

There were smiles, hugs, a few happy tears, and a lot of school spirit as we celebrated these seniors and all the memories they’ve made in an Ellis uniform.

Here’s to our seniors — we’ll be cheering for you long after the final whistle. 🥹👏
