The first day of school is always a little bit magical - the hugs, the happy reunions, the butterflies, the big smiles, and the excitement of a brand-new year.

Our girls kicked off the 2026–27 school year with plenty of school spirit (and a little help from Ellie the Tiger).

First day, full heart, green & white! 💚🤍

There’s something special about seeing our Upper School girls back together - catching up with friends, starting new classes, figuring out those schedules (eventually), and kicking off a brand-new year.

We made the most of day one with our Green & White Games, bringing the whole division outside for friendly competition, big laughs, and plenty of Ellis spirit.

Here’s to new memories, old friendships, big ideas, and a year of being ALL GIRLS. ALL IN.

A special space deserves a special celebration. 💚

We recently welcomed the generous donors who helped make our reimagined playground possible for a special ribbon cutting ceremony in their honor.

Through the Ellis 110 Campaign, their generosity is helping transform our campus and create spaces that strengthen community life for students across every grade level.

This new playground is more than a beautiful addition to campus—it’s an investment in the everyday moments of movement, connection, play, and joy that shape the Ellis experience.

We’re so grateful to the donors who helped bring this vision to life. Their impact will be felt every time an Ellis girl steps onto this playground for years to come.

The wait is over! 💚 The reimagined Ellis playground is officially open and ready for all Ellis students to enjoy.

With a modern, absorbent surface, age-appropriate equipment, and a new basketball half-court, this revitalized space gives students more room to move, play, connect, and simply be kids.

As part of the Ellis 110 Campaign, this new playground represents more than a campus improvement - it’s an investment in the everyday experiences that help our students thrive.

Here’s to 110 years of looking ahead and creating spaces where every girl can grow.

On National Women’s Equality Day, we reflect on the vision that started it all - and why it still matters today.

In 1916, Sara Frazer Ellis founded a school on the belief that girls deserved an education that would challenge them, prepare them, and open doors to opportunity.

More than a century later, we know equality is still unfinished work. Women and girls continue to face barriers to safety, opportunity, and equal rights - and we believe education has a vital role to play in changing that.

Esse quam videri. To be, rather than to seem. To know what we believe, live our values, and have the courage to help shape what comes next.

Welcome back, Ellis faculty & staff! We’re getting ready to hit play on a brand-new school year, and we kicked things off with good energy, big ideas, and plenty of Ellis spirit.

We also celebrated some very special milestones, recognizing faculty and staff who have given 5, 10, 15+ years to Ellis. 👏 And, naturally, we topped it all off with some Esse Quam Videri flash tattoos - because what better way to start the year than with our motto literally on us?

Here’s to another year of bringing our whole selves to Ellis, showing up for our students and for one another, and living Esse Quam Videri - being true to who we are and making a difference along the way. We’re so grateful to begin another year together. 💚
