Today is the day! Our highly anticipated Ortho Sim Day is happening, and it's always a highlight on our calendar, taking place only a few times a year. Our small but mighty group of learners will be taking over the simulation center, engaging in a full day of hands-on learning at various stations. This incredible event truly showcases the power of collaboration and cooperation, both in setting it up and bringing it to life for our future healthcare heroes!

Sneak peek! 🎬 We're behind the scenes today, capturing footage for our new crisis prevention videos. These videos will provide essential education on recognizing and responding to violent and disruptive behaviors, including non-verbal cues, body language, and verbal language. Stay tuned! This vital training will soon be available at various AHN hospitals and on Workday Learning. Yesterday afternoon we had a teaching Tuesday (on a Monday) where our simulation specialist, Dawn showed the team how to use our Formlabs 3D printer to make a simulated heart for training. She cleaned the tray using isopropyl alcohol, emptied old resin with proper safety practices, and found a design for the heart online, from a forum. Pretty cool stuff!

Earlier today, a pulmonary embolism simulation happened at AHN West Penn Hospital. The learners were tasked with identifying the PE in the patient and removing the clot utilizing the Inari Clot Retriever. Thank you to our sim education manager for the pics!

Introducing AHN's Star Center North: The Future of Training The future of hands-on training is coming to AHN Saint Vincent with the unveiling of the state-of-the-art simulation lab, Star Center North, a $5 million investment modeled after AHN's accredited facility in Pittsburgh.
