Only two concerts to go! We wrap up CMU Music Pre-College 2024 with our Concert Choir & Orchestra concert this evening followed by an Instrumental Honors recital tomorrow morning. This recital will showcase solo performances from students nominated to perform by their studio professors. 🎵🍊

Tonight’s concert features our Voice students. They will be performing solo works in a recital format in the first half, followed by semi-staged opera performance featuring works for Mozart🎭🎶

At this week’s Convocation, CMU Composition Professor Dr. Katherine Pukinskis presented a premier of her song cycle “The Sidereal Day.” Our students had an opportunity to discuss the collaborative process of bringing a new work to life with Dr. Pukinskis and Pre-College Faculty Sung-Im Kim and Katy Shackelton Williams.

Carnegie Mellon University School of Music Pre-College offers high school students the opportunity to be part of an innovative fine arts community within a top research university. Designed for rising high school juniors and seniors, our six-week Summer Pre-College residential program will give you the opportunity to see what college is like in this highly regarded atmosphere.
This is not high school and it is not camp - it is as close to college as a high school student can get. Students get to live the life of a music major, discover their potential for a career in music, live on campus, take conservatory-style music classes, and perform with other students from all over the world.
