News stories like these just keep coming out. In this vital election season, the media’s image of our generation’s political participation is increasingly one of buying into Trump’s bigotry. VoiceChannel is our chance as a student community to show the world that we don't stand with hate.

Our vision for VoiceChannel began with a disconnect. As students, we are surrounded by revolutionary thinkers. Our generation is making massive waves in the social justice movement, yet their voices aren't always being heard by people with the power to influence change.
Social Media is the new forefront of social justice; Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat are where the progressive thinkers of the future go to discuss and formulate their ideas. However, CEOs and Legislators are widely out-of-touch with these new online formats. VoiceChannel is the missing link between the thinkers of our generation and the policymakers of the previous one.
This connection is made through urban projection, the hallmark of our design. Our projection is a billboard-sized display that will be located at streetcorners and areas with heavy pedestrian traffic. The board displays Tweets, posts, and Snaps posted by young people that express the ideas being formed in the social justice community. Our custom-built software allows us to pull posts submitted using and display them on the display, as well as on a separate online location where people can find past posts. The projection will be both interactive online and in person, allowing for crowdsourced content that expresses the issues young people are concerned about. We hope that this technology can bring new awareness of the issues young people are concerned about into the minds of our city's elite and the public at large.
