Déodat de Séverac (1872-1921) was a French composer living at the time of Claude Debussy, the most well-known composer of "Impressionistic" music. Behind Debussy and Maurice Ravel, he was the third most talked about composer living in France. This two-hour concert will feature Severac's most popular works for the piano including the five-movement suite Cerdana composed from 1908-1911. In addition to the piano pieces, the concert will feature 8 songs sung in French by the soprano Katie Manukyan.
The JCC requires proof of vaccination to enter the building. Masks may be required depending on the current situation. Please allow extra time for a security check at the front desk. Parking is available on street (pay at the kiosk) and underneath the JCC (city parking lot). The JCC does not sponsor this event.

2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the great French composer, Claude Debussy (1862-1918). This concert will feature Art Songs (music for voice and piano) sung by Kelly Fiona Lynch, professor of music at Chatham University and Seton Hill University, Katie Manukyan, professor at University of Pittsburgh, and Franklin Mosley, a Boston University Graduate. They will be accompanied by the creator of the Exploring the Piano series and past Guest Lecturer at Grove City College, Eric Dzugan.
