On June 18, 2026, we were honored to celebrate three extraordinary colleagues whose combined service has left an enduring legacy at Duquesne University.
As, Mrs. Annette Neff, Mrs. Catie Staltari, and Dr. Sue Snyder begin exciting new professional chapters as they look to retirement and next steps in their stories, we extend our deepest gratitude for the countless ways they have enriched the lives of our students, clients, colleagues, alumni, and community partners.
Mrs. Annette Neff
Annette has exemplified what it means to be a compassionate educator, trusted clinician, and dedicated colleague. Whether working with adults with neurogenic communication disorders, children with feeding challenges, or mentoring the next generation of speech-language pathologists, she has always led with expertise, humility, and genuine care for others. Her commitment to interprofessional collaboration and, more recently, faculty, staff, and student wellness reflects the generous spirit she brings to every endeavor. While Annette is beginning a new professional chapter, we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact she has had on our department and wish her every success in the years ahead.
Mrs. Catie Staltari
Catie's energy, creativity, and unwavering dedication to student learning have enriched our department in countless ways. As Director of Clinical Education, she played a pivotal role in preparing generations of speech-language pathology students for clinical practice, cultivating strong relationships with clinical educators and community partners while ensuring exceptional learning experiences both on and off campus. Her thoughtful mentorship, commitment to evidence-based practice, and ability to inspire confidence in developing clinicians have left an enduring mark on our graduates.
Beyond her formal responsibilities, Catie has been an extraordinary ambassador for Duquesne University through her extensive service to the department, the University, the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and our broader professional community. She has consistently led with enthusiasm, generosity, and a collaborative spirit, always willing to invest her time and talents in support of students, colleagues, and the profession. We are deeply grateful for the many ways Catie has strengthened our department and look forward to watching her continue to make a difference in this exciting next chapter.
Dr. Sue Snyder
Sue's legacy at Duquesne extends far beyond the classroom and clinic. As an outstanding audiologist, educator, and mentor, she has advanced the care of individuals with hearing disorders while developing generations of clinicians who continue her commitment to excellence. Her leadership in auditory processing disorders has earned the respect of colleagues throughout our region, and her steady guidance has strengthened both our department and profession. We celebrate Sue's remarkable career and thank her for the countless ways she has enriched the lives of students, clients, colleagues, and families.
