Yesterday, educators from all 9 PERCES schools came together for a day of collaboration and learning!

Teachers reviewed data from recent student assessments and then gathered in grade-level groups to discuss results, share ideas, and learn from one another. Bringing our educators together provides a valuable opportunity to exchange best practices and use data to help every student grow and succeed.

✨ Kicking Off the I-Shine Network Speaker Series! ✨

This morning, Dr. Stephanie McHugh, Director of Student Support Services, joined students at Sacred Heart Elementary School for an assembly to launch our I-Shine Network Speaker Series.

Her presentation, “Keeping Community,” focused on what it means to be our brother’s keeper, guided by Scripture. Students explored how they can strengthen their school community by being a good friend, a supportive classmate, a responsible student, and someone who shows kindness and respect to others.

What a wonderful way to begin this new speaker series and encourage our students to shine through their words, choices, and actions! 🌟

Families throughout the Diocese of Pittsburgh are invited to the first I-SHINE Speaker Series presentation, “Keeping Community,” featuring Dr. Stephanie McHugh, Director of Student Support Services for Pittsburgh Catholic Schools.

💻 Remote attendance is also available

Dr. McHugh will share practical ways families and students can become involved, communicate effectively, support one another, and help build a caring, connected, Christ-centered school community.

It was a beautiful day at Sacred Heart as our school community came together to remember and honor September 11. ❤️🇺🇸

Across the PERCES region, our schools took time to reflect, pray, learn, and remember the lives impacted by 9/11. Through prayer, moments of silence, patriotic activities, and meaningful lessons, our students honored the heroes and the spirit of unity that followed.

We will always remember. 🇺🇸🙏

Raising and supporting children today can bring new questions and challenges at every stage. That’s why having the right support and resources matters.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh is excited to introduce the I-Shine Network Speaker Series, a new opportunity for parents, educators, and caregivers to hear from experts and gain practical tools for navigating the challenges children and families face today.

Hosted monthly at the Pastoral Center, each session will provide a chance to learn something new, connect with others, and walk away with ideas that can make a difference at home, in the classroom, and in our communities.

The first session is coming up next week! We hope you’ll consider joining us.

What an incredible milestone! We’re proud to recognize St. Bede School as it celebrates 100 years of faith, learning, and community. Even more special, the City of Pittsburgh has officially proclaimed September 7 as St. Bede Day!
