Differences in Spatiotemporal Brain Network Dynamics of Montessori and Traditionally Schooled Students

New research suggests that the way children learn may shape how their brains develop. A study of 87 students found that those in Montessori programs showed more connected and stable brain activity at rest, patterns linked to stronger focus, coordination, and self-regulation.

While not proving cause and effect, the findings highlight how
child-centered, hands-on learning environments can support healthy brain development.

As parents, we want to give our children everything. We try to give them every “advantage” in life And yet, time and time again - from every walk of life, in every childhood, we know that what matters most is the parent child relationship. As parents we have the ability to arm them for the rest of their lives against adversity and that is “built” through love, connection & support. A healthy attachment in childhood is what we need “more” of in the world For every parent working so incredibly hard for their kids - know that every bit of what you do for your kids is a gift for them. And - the greatest gift will always be your love. 🤍 I am grounded by this research often, but even more so a while back when my husband worked extra hrs every day coming home after bedtime every night. I desperately tried to explain to my little one a bit about how our life and belongings come to be, through working and earning money. my daughter, in tears, said “I don’t want him to make money anymore I just want to be with him” They don’t quite understand how the world works just yet, but they know there is nothing like being with the ones who love them. We may not get as much time as we wish we could with them, (and to be clear they don’t need 24:7 time with us to feel this love!) but when we do get those sweet family days together - it is so much more magical than we may realize 💕

A gentle reminder is necessary. 💙💙
