The NHS Bobcat Marching Band was honored to be a part of today's Memorial Day Ceremony held in our Manchester & Mt. Wolf Community presented by VFW Susquehanna Post 2493 from Mt. Wolf. Special thanks to Manchester Union Fire Co 1- Staion 23 for providing a rain-free space at which this meaningful event could still take place- despite the inclement weather that canceled the traditional parade. We are grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community! Thank you Band members for adapting and adjusting and performing wonderfully and thank you to all the military families in our area, and across our Nation, for your service and sacrifice.

"The Great Shed Move of 2026" is complete! Due to upcoming construction at NHS, the Marching Band tractor shed had to be relocated to another far away place on the secondary campus and it needed to be done fast! Thanks to Ella, Nathan, Peter, and Diego, we got it done - in the rain!! As a reward- and to help be a little drier- all of these terrific Bobcats got a throwback t-shirt from our 2019 "¡La Musical Latina en Fuego!" show. The shirts look as sharp today as they did back then. Work done 👍Memories made 🧡 Dedicated Band kids 🙌👏🎉

We're excited for the 8th annual "NESD Night of Jazz" held in the Northeastern Middle School Auditorium this Friday, May 1st! Come on out for the 6:00 pm show and enjoy over 40 of our NMS & NHS musicians as they perform a fantastic slate of jazz and rock tunes from the past century. You'll hear everything from Gershwin to "Golden!" Admission is free with the opportunity for a goodwill offering.

We love our Seniors!! We're so proud of each and every one of you and will miss you a ton next year as you move on to your next chapters. It's been a privilege to share in making music and memories with you. Thank you for EVERYTHING you've contributed to our program and for inspiring others with your love of music!

Please come out and enjoy our senior's final Spring Band & Orchestra Concert performance this Sunday, May 3rd at 2:00pm in the NHS Auditorium. The concert is free with an opportunity to donate through a goodwill offering. Our Northeastern Music Boosters will be on site selling Candygrams and wooden flowers as well. Enter NHS through the Performing Arts Entrance.

For the 8th year since 2018, Northeastern School District has received National Recognition for Championing Music Education. We have again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation for their outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 27th year, the program continues to spotlight and celebrate school districts and individual schools across the United States for their exemplary dedication to music education and their ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.

The award reaches K-12 communities nationwide, offering both recognition and momentum to strengthen and expand music education programs. In 2026, more than 1,000 school districts and schools—including public, private, charter and parochial institutions—have been recognized for outstanding achievement in providing access to high-quality music education.

Recipients of the 2026 BCME Awards were selected through a comprehensive application and review process that evaluates key indicators, including funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities and community support. To uphold the program’s rigor and credibility, all applications were independently reviewed and verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.

The NAMM Foundation is the charitable arm of the National Association of Music Merchants, the global trade association for the music products industry. The foundation works to remove systemic barriers that limit access to music-making and career pathways in the music industry. A wonderful night of music at the 13th annual NHS Solo & Small Ensemble Recital to finish out "Music in Our Schools Month!" So many talented students and impressive performances! Bravo everyone!

Please join us at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 31st in the Northeastern Middle School Auditorium for the 13th annual Solo & Small Ensemble Recital - sponsored by the NHS Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter #6272. This amazing program is always a school-year highlight and will be featuring over 30 of our talented NHS musicians. Musical selections range from Handel & Bach to Nirvana & The Rolling Stones, with stops in the Classical and Romantic Eras, as well as with Chuck Berry, ABBA, and Journey. It's going to be a great night to say farewell to "Music in Our Schools" Month. Admission is free!

Today's the day! Our amazing NMS Band students will be performing in the York County Middle School Honors Band Festival this afternoon at Eastern York High School. Its going to be a great concert and we are super proud of our Bobcat musicians!

The Northeastern crew is ready to take the stage at the York County High School Honors Band Festival concert at South Western High School. The past 24 hours have been filled with meeting new musicians from other districts, reconnecting with friends made at previous festivals and band shows, and learning to gel as a performing ensemble in a short amount of time. The jazz group (featuring Peter) sounds great with Mr. Ryan Kauffman from Millersville University leading and the concert band (featuring Coen, Nathan, Hayden, Avery, Ella, Gracie, Alexis, and Meredith) will be equally fantastic in their performance under the direction of Dr. Russell McCutcheon from Gettysburg College. Congratulations to all of our Bobcat musicians!
