Save The Date Information - Westinghouse High School Class of 1973 - 50th Reunion

After presenting a resolution to rename a university building after Dr. Shropshire (the first Black dean at Clarion University), I greeted his wife and daughter. I said to the audience, “this resolution is personal to me.” Dr. Shropshire and I are both Westinghouse High School graduates—we are “Bulldogs.”

This was a VERY special moment for me. As co-chair of finance and administration at PennWest University, I approved and presented a resolution to rename a university building after Dr. John S. Shropshire Hall. The late Dr. Shropshire was the first Black dean at Clarion University. He was a graduate of Westinghouse High School. And he recruited me to come to Clarion University. His wife and daughter are pictured in the center of this photo.
