Today, our Sacred Heart community once again came out to support one another, cheer each other on, and show the strong bonds that connect our families—from our parents to our Crusaders.
Our Cross Country team was well represented at the race, with Crusaders coming out to run, encourage their teammates, and represent Sacred Heart. Several of our runners took home medals, but what made the day truly special was seeing everyone there for one another and celebrating each other’s accomplishments.
This is what makes Sacred Heart so special. We are proud of our runners, our families, and the community we have built together.

One of the core values of Sacred Heart Elementary School is service to others. Our first Crusader Call Out recipient is only in second grade, but he is already a wonderful example of what it means to serve and care for others in our school community. If you have worked at the St. Jude Festival this year or in years past, you may have seen Lochlan walking around with his wagon of water, making sure all of our volunteers had something to drink. We also saw him helping set up our Welcome Back event on Tuesday. Lochlan is always looking for ways to lend a helping hand and make a difference. In addition to his willingness to serve, Lochlan is a kind and caring friend and a loving big brother. We are so proud of Lochlan and grateful to have him as part of our Sacred Heart school community. Go Crusaders!

Yesterday was the first day of school at Sacred Heart Elementary, and we had SO many “firsts” to celebrate! ❤️

🎒 First day of Kindergarten
🎓 First day for our Class of 2027 8th graders
🍎 First day for our new teachers
🦷 AND our first lost tooth of the school year!

Nothing says “first day of school” quite like new beginnings, big milestones, and losing a tooth before we’ve even made it through Day 1. 😂🦷

Here’s to a school year filled with learning, growing, friendships, memories, and hopefully only a reasonable number of lost teeth!

Welcome Mrs. McKinney!
Mrs. Brianna McKinney joins the Sacred Heart team as the new Middle School Math and STEM teacher. She earned her degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University and her Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics Education-Secondary from Western Governors University. Before transitioning into education, she worked as an Electrical Engineer for 8 years. Mrs. McKinney is excited to bring her engineering background into the math and STEM classroom while helping students discover the many opportunities available for their futures. She is especially looking forward to getting to know the students at Sacred Heart and sharing her passion for problem-solving, creativity, and innovation!

Welcome Mrs Levarse!
Mrs. Erika Levarse joins the Sacred Heart Elementary team as the new First Grade teacher. She holds a Bachelor's in English and Art History from Chatham University, Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Special Education from La Roche University, and a Master's in Creative Writing from Chatham University. Mrs. Levarse worked as a Paraeducator at Riverview School District, First/Second Grade teacher at Wi******er Thurston, and recently was the Kindergarten Teacher at Northside Catholic Assumption Academy for 4 years. She is looking forward to getting to know all of the students and families at Sacred Heart, and having fun in first grade!
