Real Training. Real Results. Real Impact.

This week, Irondale Fire Department-Irondale, Ohio responded to their first water rescue call—an overturned kayak incident—and they absolutely delivered.

Last year, their crew completed our Boat Operations course, and to see those same skills put into action on a real-world call like this is exactly why we do what we do.

From scene control to boat handling , their team executed with confidence and professionalism. That doesn’t happen by accident—it comes from training, repetition, and commitment to getting it right when it matters most.

At LVA Water Rescue, nothing makes us prouder than seeing our students take what they’ve learned and apply it successfully in the field.

This is why training matters.

Great work to Irondale VFD—we’re proud to have been a part of your journey and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. 👏

Over the past four years, LVA Water Rescue has had the privilege of training more than 250 students, across two states, in lifesaving water rescue skills. As well as teaching, hosting, and providing plans for multi jurisdiction/agency trainings. Each class, each scenario, and each new face reminds us why we started—and why we continue to grow.

What many people may not realize is that we learn just as much as we teach. Through ongoing training and the real-world incidents we’ve responded to, our knowledge continues to evolve. Every rescue, every challenge, and every debrief strengthens not only our skills, but our commitment to doing this the right way.

Truth be told—we often enjoy the training just as much (if not more) than our students do. There’s something incredibly rewarding about building scenarios, pushing limits in a controlled environment, and watching confidence grow in those we train. Seeing that moment when everything “clicks” for someone is what drives us.

Our passion comes from knowing that what we teach matters. It matters on the worst day someone may ever experience. It matters when seconds count. And it matters because a strong, knowledgeable water rescue community makes everyone safer.

We’re proud to be part of that community—and even more proud to help it grow.

Thank you to all who supported us, trusted us, and continue to take classes with us! Your support means everything to us!

Students practiced boat operating, victim rescue, and got lots of time on the motors. Great work by everyone in the class.
