Today, we celebrate all of the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, aunts, guardians, and special caregivers who love, support, and guide the children in our Little Explorers family each and every day.

🌟💙 At Little Explorers, we celebrate our teachers not just during Teacher Appreciation Week—but all year long! 💙🌟

This week, we had so much fun showing our staff how much they mean to us with “out of this galaxy” treats 🚀✨, fresh coffee made to order ☕, and summer fun bags to help them relax and enjoy a little sunshine! ☀️🕶️

Our teachers give so much of themselves each and every day to support, nurture, and inspire the children in our care. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do—not just this week, but every single day.

To our amazing team: thank you for your hard work, your hearts, and your continued commitment to our Little Explorers families. We appreciate you now and always! 💛

🚒✨ Exploring Our Neighborhood! ✨🚒

Our Little Explorers love getting out and exploring the world around them! Today, our toddlers took a walk and passed the local fire station, and it was an experience to remember!

The firefighters were so kind and welcoming—taking the time to show the children the fire truck up close and personal. The excitement on their faces said it all as they learned about these everyday heroes in our community.

A special thank you to the firefighters at South Side Station 24 for taking the time to make this walk so memorable for our children! ❤️

We love creating opportunities for our children to connect with their neighborhood and learn through real-life experiences!

We are so excited to introduce our brand new Sharing Library, now located right at the front of our building!

This special space is here for our families and community to take a book, leave a book, and share the joy of reading together. Whether you’re picking up a new story or passing along a favorite, it’s a simple way to spread a love of books with everyone around us.

Keystone STARS is a responsive system designed to improve, support, and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs across Pennsylvania.

We are so proud to share that our Little Explorers team has met all the requirements set by the state, and this March, we earned the highest rating through Keystone STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

That’s right—Little Explorers is now a 4 STAR center!

The votes are in and the excitement is building! The winner will be announced this evening at our Teacher of the Year Celebration.

We are so proud of all of our incredible educators who make Little Explorers such a special place for children to learn and grow every day. 💙

📣 Reminder: The center will be closing early at 4:00 PM today to allow our staff time to get ready for the celebration.

📚✨ Read Across America Week Recap! ✨📚

Last week we had so much fun celebrating Read Across America Week! Classrooms competed to see who could read the most books, and our Little Explorers did an amazing job filling the week with stories and imagination.

A big congratulations to our Young Toddler Classroom who read an incredible 167 books during the week! 🎉📖

As a center, we are proud to share that our families and children read a total of 558 books throughout the week!

Our Preschool friends also had a special opportunity to visit the South Side library last Friday where they listened to two wonderful stories and participated in a fun craft activity.

We are so proud of all of our young readers and the excitement they showed for books and learning. Keep up the great reading, Little Explorers! 💙

🎨✨ Little Explorers Learn From the Masters! ✨🎨

Throughout the month of January, our Older Toddlers classroom has been exploring the exciting world of famous artists! As part of this creative study, the children are learning about different styles and techniques—drawing inspiration from legendary names, including Pittsburgh’s very own Andy Warhol.

From bold colors to imaginative patterns, our little artists are getting the chance to create their own artwork modeled after these iconic figures. It’s a wonderful blend of art appreciation and hands-on fun, all designed to spark creativity and curiosity.

We can’t wait to showcase their masterpieces later this month! 🖼️🖌️

As we all pause to reflect on what we’re thankful for, we want to share how truly grateful we are for our amazing families and the wonderful Little Explorers community. Your support and partnership mean so much to us every day! 💛

Just a quick reminder:
🍂 The center will be closed on Friday, November 28, so our staff can enjoy a well-deserved extended holiday weekend.
We’ll be excited to welcome everyone back on Monday, December 1—rested, recharged, and ready for more fun and learning!
