As part of an upcoming facility improvement project, work to remove and replace the turf at Lenzner Field will begin on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
For the safety of our students, staff, contractors, and community members, the stadium and track area will be closed throughout the month of June. Public access to the facility will not be permitted during this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these upgrades. We look forward to reopening the facility once the project is complete.

This year, Avonworth Elementary students explored the exciting world of podcasting while building communication, technology, and leadership skills.
Our 5th grade student ambassadors helped launch the school's podcast feed, learned from the Saturday Light Brigade, and even visited their professional studios.
One of the highlights of the year was interviewing Avonworth's state champion swimmers, giving younger students the opportunity to hear firsthand about dedication, teamwork, and success.
We're proud of our student podcasters for sharing their voices and creativity with our school community! ✨

Learning beyond the classroom!
After completing a writing assignment to earn the opportunity, our 8th grade Civics students visited the Allegheny County Courthouse to experience the Judicial Branch firsthand.
Students observed real criminal trials, met members of the Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, and spoke with judges and attorneys about the judicial process. It was a memorable opportunity to see classroom learning come to life and gain a deeper understanding of our court system.

Our students celebrated their hard work with a school-wide PBIS extra recess reward!
By mixing up the grade levels, friends and siblings got to spend time together while enjoying fun throughout the school — from games in the gym and board games in the music room to crafts in the art room. It was a great day of fun, creativity, and community!

🎭 Bravo to Avonworth’s own Paxon Masters!
Congratulations to Paxon on winning Outstanding Actor at the Gene Kelly Awards for his incredible performance as the Phantom in Avonworth High School’s production of The Phantom of the Opera.
Paxon will now represent Pittsburgh and the CLO in New York City at the National High School Musical Theater Awards — better known as the Jimmy Awards — on June 22. He’ll spend a week training with industry professionals and participating in intensive workshops before competing on the national stage.
Paxon joins an impressive legacy of Avonworth performers who have earned this honor, following Nathan Pool & Brooke Tate (2012, Sweeney Todd & Mrs. Lovett) and Andrea Weinzierl (2010, Mame).
And the 2026 Gene Kelly Award for Outstanding Actor goes to… ✨🎶💚
