Why yes, he does have his little back feet up 😆!
Home of the "Fruit and Veggie time with Tater" videos, and other pics, videos and stories about our Meet Tater Tot! He’s what’s known as a “Juliana Mini Pig”.
After MUCH research, we (Rachel and Brandon)adopted him through the Pig Placement Network (they help find pet pigs new homes). We adopted Tater in early April 2020 since Brandon was temporarily off of work and I started working from home. It was perfect timing! Tater Tot is quite the popular pig here in Dormont! He loves the neighborhood kids who stop by to say hello, gives kisses to his favorite

Lots of people ask if Princess Patty Cakes can see. Yes she can! You just have to be at her eye level 😆. She is a mixed breed American pot belly, which is clear when you notice her front hooves are completely different than her back ones. But she also has some dwarfism, causing her legs to be much too short for her body! She should probably be at least as tall as Tater Tot.
If I lay down next to her, I can get these pics of her pretty eyes for you 🐽💕!

Happy National Pig Day!! This is a more rare sighting than a man reading directions before building a piece of furniture! Tater Tot and Patty Cakes will occasionally tolerate each other’s presence, just don’t let them know you’re watching 😆.

The piggies got their nails done for the holidays 😃! The Pigsburgh Squealers Rescue are also traveling farriers who come to trim the pigs’ hooves and tusks a few times a year. They also give us invaluable information and advice about how to care for our precious babies and give them a safe and happy environment.
As you can see, the 🐖 are upside down during their trims. While a bit unflattering 🤪, this is a painless, safe alternative to using sedation. Pigs do not recover well from sedation and it can be dangerously unpredictable, so we avoid it unless medically necessary.
Pigs are very sensitive, and are similar emotionally to toddlers. After hoof trims they’re both embarrassed and pi**ed off the rest of the day- they will sulk, pout, and often give us the cold shoulder! I give them extra treats for the next couple days to win them back 🙄😊🐽.

How cute are these!? You can meet a sweetheart named Illona at Pigsburgh Squealers Rescue.
🔥 This is the MANGALITSA PIG, the Pig That Looks Like a Fluffy Sheep! 🐷🧶
That thick curly coat is real — this pig grows wool so fluffy that at first glance it looks like it belongs in a meadow, not a barn.
The curls cover everything: the ears, the cheeks, even the legs, giving it one of the most unique looks of any farm animal on the planet.
This warm fleece isn’t just cute.
It helps the Mangalitsa handle freezing winters, staying cozy outdoors when other pigs would need shelter.
✨ Fun fact: Their wool can grow so dense that some farmers used to shear them just like sheep.

Tater Tot and Patty Cakes are complete opposites when it comes to the snow!
Tater lets me put on his cape, goes right out, and happily eats the snow and ice while he does his business.
The Princess makes me chase her down and bribe her to get her cape on. Then, after pushing her out the door, she squeals her disdain for all things winter while she hurries up to potty. If we don’t clear her spot in the yard well enough and her belly touches snow, she gets mad and storms inside 🤣.
I do have to wrestle them both to get the capes back off. The things I do …
