We are excited to announce that Dr. Barbara Pagan has been named the next Principal of St. Benedict the Moor School.

Dr. Pagan is a passionate educator with a wealth of leadership experience and a heart for helping every child grow academically, socially, and spiritually. In a wonderful full-circle moment, one of her very first teaching positions was here at St. Benedict the Moor, and we are thrilled to welcome her back home.

Earlier this school year, our 7th and 8th grade scholars had the opportunity to visit the Teenie Harris Photography exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Art. As a legendary photographer from Pittsburgh's Hill District—the very community many of our students call home—Teenie Harris captured the beauty, resilience, achievement, and everyday lives of generations of Black Pittsburghers.

Our students saw more than photographs; they saw a reflection of their community's rich history and a reminder that greatness has always lived in the Hill District.

At St. Benedict the Moor School, we believe every child is created by God with unique gifts and limitless potential. By learning about those who came before them, our scholars are inspired to dream bigger, lead with purpose, and continue writing the next chapter of excellence.

From exciting challenges to creative inventions, every day is filled with discovery, collaboration, and learning.
