During the month of April, in early education we celebrate the Month of the Young Child by focusing on young children’s joy, wonder, and boundless potential!
The Month of the Young Child is a time to recognize the critical role families, early childhood educators, and communities play in nurturing and shaping the future of our youngest learners. As Pennsylvania lawmakers begin to negotiate the 2026-27 state budget, we can urge them to include the proposed investments in the early care and education workforce. It is imperative that Pennsylvania continues to invest in the childcare and pre-k workforce to keep making progress towards helping families with young children.

All COTRAIC Centers will be operating on a 2 hour delay today.

Due to the frigid forecasted temperatures 🥶 for tomorrow morning, all COTRAIC sites will be operating on a two-hour delay.

Also, as a reminder, there will be no yellow bus 🚌for Rochelle Street for tomorrow, February 9th.

There's snowplace like home! Make sure to tag us in your child's magical snow adventures from the past few days ❄️☃️

IMPORTANT UPDATE: All garbage and recycling collection is suspended for this week.

In addition to Public Works personnel continuing to focus on snow removal, large snow banks have accumulated throughout the city and windchills are expected to hit severely low temperatures during collection times.

Normal operations are expected to resume on Monday, February 2, 2026.
