The mission of South Hills Catholic Academy is to assist parents in the Christian spiritual, moral and intellectual formation of their children by ensuring the total development of each child – body, mind, and soul. The school is easily accessible to Route 88 and neighboring communities in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. OUR STORY
South Hills Catholic Academy (SHCA) is an independent Catholic scho
ol created and funded by a group of lay people with a desire to bring about a more vibrant Church. It offers a unique educational and spiritual formation opportunity that is targeted for a specific segment of the population in Pittsburgh’s South Hills. The South Hills Catholic Academy offering is built off of three key pillars:
•Ensuring that a Traditional Catholic education and curriculum is accessible to all children in the southern region of Pittsburgh, especially the growing immigrant population and those of modest means.
•Preparing students for higher education through a curriculum built on a foundation of a traditional education.
•Providing a rich tradition of spiritual formation with a vibrant sacramental and devotional life at the center of the school mission. SHCA is financially independent and supported by South Hills benefactors and modest tuition revenues. The school offers grades Pre-K through 8, with the intent to feed the existing Catholic High Schools. The SHCA Team worked with the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education, a nationally recognized organization, to develop the curriculum and operating model for the school. Registrations are now being accepted for Preschool through 8th Grade for the 2022-2023 academic year. Online registration (preferred) can be done through our website at www.shcacademy.com/school-forms.
