Trick to Remember

1. Sympathy = “I feel sorry for you.”
তোমার জন্য আমার খারাপ লাগছে।

2. Empathy = “I understand your pain because I can feel it too.”
আমি তোমার কষ্ট বুঝতে পারছি।

3. Apathy = “I don’t care.”
আমার কিছু যায় আসে না।

Situation Example

👍 Your friend failed an exam:

Sympathy: “I’m sorry you failed.”

Empathy: “I know how painful it feels. I failed once too.”

Apathy: “Whatever. Not my problem.”
Bangla Version

Sympathy: “তুমি ফেল করেছো শুনে খারাপ লাগলো।”

Empathy: “আমি বুঝতে পারছি কেমন লাগছে, কারণ আমিও একবার ফেল করেছিলাম।”

Way to Remember

E = Exit → Emigrate = leave a country
