Now that May crazies are over, moms and dads may begin to reflect on the past school year . . . . It’s worth doing! After all, they only get one childhood. . . .
Are you happy with where your children started and ended in their academic life? In their spiritual growth? In their character development? Did your children receive the attention they needed? Are you pleased with the culture of your school, the quality of the conversations your children are initiating?
Do you see joy and confidence growing in them? How do you feel about the actual content of the curriculum? Is it appropriately robust? Are they learning to read and spell and write? Are they learning and enjoying arithmetic? Are they loving history? Advancing in understanding or just frustration? Is the curriculum aligned with your faith commitments? Do you even know what the curriculum is? Are you being respected and heard as a parent, as the primary custodian of your child’s intellectual, moral, and spiritual development?
If you have some misgivings and are curious about what a different path forward might look like, please consider visiting Penn Woods Classical Academy! Right now, until mid-July, those who make a visit and decide to apply, will receive a $50.00 fee discount. We are confident that these tour/visits make all the difference! Also, at this moment we still have financial aid available, so do not let tuition be a barrier!!
Penn Woods is adding another Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade class to accommodate our growth, as well as adding 7th grade as we build out a grade each year to 12th. We are finishing the refurbishment of the second half of our building and ready and committed to serving you. Come and see what we are offering and share this with others!
The earlier your child makes the move to Classical, the better, but we welcome kids up to 7th grade and are offering boot camps to get them up to speed this summer to help with the transition!
Don’t let your child miss out on the Classical K-12 Revolution which is rising across the United States!

An excerpt from today’s daily address and prayer from Dr. Eric Stennett, our Head of School:
Memorial Day is a sacred day set aside to honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country and in defense of the freedoms we enjoy each day.
As a former soldier, this day carries deep personal meaning for me. I have had the honor of serving alongside courageous men and women who willingly placed themselves in harm’s way for others. Some of those heroes never returned home to their families. They sacrificed birthdays, holidays, dreams, futures, and ultimately their lives so that others might live in freedom.
That sacrifice must never be forgotten.
This year is especially meaningful as we approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation. For nearly two and a half centuries, generations of Americans have answered the call to serve and defend this country with courage, duty, sacrifice, and honor. Throughout every generation, brave men and women stood firm during times of war, uncertainty, hardship, and danger because they believed that liberty, faith, family, and country were worth protecting.
At PWCA, we believe it is important to teach our students not only academics, but gratitude, virtue, courage, service, and remembrance. We want our students to understand that freedom is not free and that behind every freedom we enjoy stands the sacrifice of others.
Today I ask all of us to take a quiet moment to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. May we honor them not only with words, but by living lives of integrity, courage, humility, faith, and service to others.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Fortitude means courageously doing what is right even when it is difficult.
