Another school year ended, means the next one is coming up fast! As summer sessions approach, it's important to remember that short summer sessions can be like an oncoming train behind you! Their shorter schedules are not just a benefit -- all the material is ALSO being compressed into a shorter timeframe! You're going to cover a whole semester's worth of material in as little as 6 weeks, depending on your summer session's calendar.

If you fall behind, it can be almost impossible to get caught up! Don't stumble on the tracks in your summer biology classes! Message me to set up sessions from the beginning, and I'll help you stay ahead of the train, so to speak!

If your AP Biology student is struggling with keeping up or feeling unprepared for the AP Biology exam, please don't hesitate to contact me! I've helped dozens of AP Biology students to exam scores of 4 or 5 by giving them one-on-one assistance at the pace and depth they needed to ensure their full understanding and retention of the material.

This is extremely important as the AP exam approaches, as it not only covers material from the entire year of AP Biology (some of which may have been rushed or incomplete due to COVID concerns), but also challenges students with a very particular set of question formats quite different from the norm in high school. I can work with your student using old test questions to help them understand how to read and understand the questions under time pressure, and how to craft their answers quickly to get the best possible scores.

I find most students I work with to be motivated and diligent. But they find themselves struggling because they've never learned _how_ to learn effectively, and are suddenly in over their heads and under pressure.

Every once in awhile I get a message asking for direct help on an exam.

For students looking to pay a tutor to take their test for you: I'm not the tutor you're looking for. Good luck to you! If you'd like help becoming able to succeed at your exam yourself, I'm happy to help you on that front.

For students looking for support in an open-book, unproctored online exam: I'm happy to help you think through your test questions and/or let you know whether your answers are correct, but I have to recommend tutoring ahead of time, before the test, will benefit you much more.

While last-minute tutoring help before an exam is better than no tutoring help at all, it's nowhere near as helpful as regular tutoring help that catches your problems with your course material when they first crop up.

When exams loom and time gets tight, I can really only help you triage your difficulties, which are usually harder to deal with when your memory of the original lecture or chapter is now fuzzy.

But with regular tutoring along the way, I can help you connect the dots and fully understand your course material when your confusion first arises. As a bonus, you'll recall it better on the eventual test and be better able to learn later material without the distraction of anxiety over how well you're doing in the class.
