Today, ESC8 staff heard from Justin Richardson of Waymaker Leadership Development, and his message was a meaningful reminder of the heart behind our work.

Justin connected with our staff through a powerful conversation about serving others with purpose and recognizing the impact we can make in how we show up for others each day.

At ESC8, service is at the center of our work, and today was a great reminder that when we serve with intention, we have the opportunity to make a difference that reaches far beyond the moment.

Thank you, Justin, for encouraging our team to continue serving with purpose.

This week, students, educators, and industry partners came together to celebrate the start of another exciting year for the Northeast Texas Career Alliance (NTCA)!

Students from Paul H. Pewitt CISD, Hughes Springs ISD, Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD, and Chapel Hill ISD joined partners from across the region for a day focused on career exploration, connection, and opportunity.

Guest speakers Mike Thompson, former AgScience teacher and FFA advisor in Mount Pleasant, Jeffery Crabb with Diamond C, and Justin Stansell with Stansell Construction shared motivational messages with students and helped set the tone for the year ahead.

Our partners at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) were also an important part of the day. Joining students were Dr. Kevin Rose, President; Dr. Anna Ingram, Vice President; Jimmy Smith, Dean of Workforce; Jodi Pack, Director of Marketing; Kevin Frost, Instructor; and Andres Ruiz, Instructor.

Students also gained a firsthand look at local industry during their time at Priefert Manufacturing, where Cody Duncan and Darek Bragg helped them explore career pathways and learn more about opportunities available right here in Northeast Texas.

NTCA is built on partnership, bringing together students, school districts, higher education, and local industry to create meaningful learning experiences and stronger pathways to the workforce.

We are excited to celebrate these students and the many educators, leaders, and industry partners investing in their success as we begin the 2026-2027 school year!
