Come be a GTA for us!!!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The Department of Communication is now accepting applications for our M.A. in Communication program and Spring 2027 Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs)!

We expect to offer five GTA opportunities — one in each of these areas:

Speech Communication
Multimedia Journalism
Strategic Communication
Theatre
Media Production

GTA Benefits Include:

Tuition and fee waivers
Stipend
Hands-on teaching, mentoring, and production experience
Opportunities for research, creative projects, conferences, and professional development

Our M.A. in Communication program allows students to explore their interests in journalism, media, strategic communication, organizational communication, health communication, sports communication, theatre, and more — all while working closely with faculty.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 2, 2026 for Spring 2027 GTA consideration

Applicants must apply to and be admitted to Pitt State's graduate Communication program to be eligible for a GTA position.

Ahoy Gorillas!
Don't forget to catch Pitt State's production of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER at the Dotty and Bill Miller Theater at the Bicknell Center. The production will run October 22nd-24th at 7:30pm, and October 24th-25th at 2pm. Tickets are FREE for Pitt State staff and students with a valid ID.

Tickets are $18 for the general public, $13 for under 17 or over 64. Tickets can be purchased in the PSU Ticket Office, by calling 620-235-4796, online at pittstate.edu/tickets, or at the door approximately 30 minutes prior to curtain.
