As a former active attendee at the CAC meetings, I am extremely happy to see that our Western States JAC is one of the grant awardees...
I have 3,000 more hours to go in my apprenticeship and hopeful to see how some of this funding will directly impact my experience...
Hopefully a report/some feedback from Western States JAC will be shared/talked about at our next union meeting.

"The CAC Training Fund has grown from $3 million to $20 million annually, allowing apprenticeship programs to expand training, invest in equipment, strengthen recruitment, update curriculum, and provide instructor training to meet evolving industry needs.
Trades represented among the funded programs include boilermakers, bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, ironworkers, plasterers, surveyors, sheet metal workers, and HVAC technicians, among others."

Heads up to all members: The shop will be closed next week 3/23 - 3/27 due to Year 2 Apprenticeship classes going on. See you all the following week

Point of Information to all members: Common-Arc is just over a month away. For this and the next three weeks, our instructor, Steve Brown, will be in the shop until 9 pm, Monday through Thursday (normal hours apply on Friday). This is also the Year 3 classes' Weld Week, so the shop will not be open for other members until 5 pm this week (5-9 pm, Monday through Thursday, closed on Friday).

All members, the shop will be closed tomorrow in observance of Veterans' Day. As well as Wednesday, November 12, we will be hosting Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High with the Torlakson Whole Child Institute to teach our youth about our trade and union crafts as a whole.

Brothers and Sisters, this is to inform you that the shop will be closed during the week of September 7th. All training employees will be away, either attending rigging training in Kansas City or participating in FABTECH in Chicago.
