We're kicking off the semester with the option to purchase a Pitt State Modern Languages t-shirt. To be a part of our bulk pricing (estimated between $10 and $12) stop by room 313 in Grubbs to fill out an order form. Once we know pricing we will ask for you to bring your money for the t-shirt to the office and then you can collect your paid t-shirt once it's ready!

Dr. Bert Patrick (Beto), Professor Emeritus of Spanish, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from complications caused by metastatic melanoma cancer. During his nearly 50-year career at Pitt State, Beto left a profound, positive impact on students and colleagues. We offer our condolences to his family, and we remember Professor Patrick for his deep desire for lifelong learning.

Lauren Sams (Spanish Minor; Education Major) has been chosen by the Meddeas program to teach English in Spain! She will work at a local public school in Villalba (Comunidad de Madrid).

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Modern Languages program at Pitt State have teamed up to provide the Pittsburg State University Language Enrollment Motivation Study (https://georgetown.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d6D3fNa7sPiutAq).
