In case you didn't know, I also teach at the sweetest little school called Covenant Academy. If you're creative, we've got a great opportunity coming up for you to make some items (or offer services) for a silent auction fundraiser we'll be doing this spring.

Please feel free to share with your friends so folks will have plenty of time to plan and prepare their projects. Thanks for supporting our school!

CALLING ALL CREATIVES!

Are you creative? Do you need an outlet for your art that will support a good cause?

Covenant Academy is seeking artisans from the community who would be willing to donate hand-crafted items or services to a silent auction school fundraiser (set for Spring 2027).

Bring your skills and make something beautiful to support the labor of love that is our little school. The sky is the limit -- you make it, and we'd be honored to feature your contribution in the fundraiser.

Please share and help us get the word out so that people have plenty of time to plan and prepare! Thanks for you help! Please message us with any questions. Happy making!

Finally got to meet one of my new nephews, Noah, and got to gift him with this custom baby mobile I made for him. It was a fun challenge, especially considering some of the animals my kids and I decided to make for it. Making baby mobiles *might* be one of my most favorite fun projects.

I recently had the honor of heading up decorations for a leadership conference our church put on. This sign / yarn installation for the stage was fun challenge. But part of the fun of creating things is the joy it brings me and others, as well as the inevitable learning that comes with it as we experiment with different methods and materials.

Gotta brag on my kiddos. We did a fishing themed baby shower for my sister. I made a felt fish, my daughter crocheted a large mouth bass, and each of my sons decided they wanted to learn a bit of sewing by making some felt fish. We all had a lot of fun and each learned a little something by trying something new. Fresh creative endeavors are awesome like that. And showers are a great opportunity to get creative!

Home harvested duck eggs to dye for Easter makes it all the more special of a tradition. We used a combination of dip dying and rice dying methods and the kids came up with some pretty beautiful color combinations.

Happy Easter all!

My most recent musings...

Welp, here we are again. Another video snippet. All the public scrutiny. Aimed at law enforcement on all levels. And the logical implications therein insinuated that incriminate all officers for finding themselves in a life-or-death situation and facing the dreaded decision of who comes home to thei...

This dear daughter of mine has been dreaming of this day ever since she found out she was getting a sister. She's spent months perusing ideas on Pinterest for things she could make for this baby, and after much indecision, finally made up her mind to make the sweetest little bunny lovey.

🐇

After the difficult decision of choosing the perfect fabric, she finally found what she was wanting. Drawing inspiration from a few different ones we saw online, we drew up our own pattern, and with some trial and error and a few alterations, this is what we ended with. She's already made clear this bunny better be packed and ready to come along to the hospital to meet this baby.

Better a late than never, but for my boys' gift, I made them each a banner to display their many badges and patches on. Pretty simple space-saving way to get them on display instead of laying all around the house. The badges easily pin on or off and the patches are pretty simple to tack on in case they ever decide they want them to be taken off and put on something else.
