KCCTE Empowering CTE Educators through hands-on professional development and technical training.

Join us in shaping future-ready classrooms with current industry skills, networking opportunities, and expert-led workshops. 💻kccte.pittstate.edu KCCTE was created with the purpose of providing technical and professional development for Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors. KCCTE has the following four objectives:

✔Provide technical workshops at a reduced cost to Kansas CTE instructo

rs. These workshops will offer CTE instructors professional development opportunities to practice industry skills within their occupational area.

✔Provide a resource sharing website at no cost to Kansas CTE instructors. These resources will allow CTE instructors to collaborate and share educational resources with others within the same occupational area. Resources may include lesson plans, classroom management tips, and organizational tools.

✔Provide professional mentorship at no cost to Kansas CTE instructors. This service will assist CTE instructors in transitioning to their professional role. KCCTE faculty will mentor new teachers upon request.

✔Provide Technical Teacher Education coursework to Kansas CTE instructors. This coursework is specifically geared toward assisting CTE instructors in acquiring their professional education skills and credentials. This coursework will continue to be the quality instruction that the PSU Technical Teacher Education program has been providing in the past.

The Kansas ACTE Teacher Educator of the Year recognizes teacher educators who have demonstrated innovation in teacher education, leadership in improving CTE, and commitment to preparing teachers to deliver high quality CTE programs.

Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Elliott for being chosen as Teacher of the Year at the K-ACTE Career Tech Summit.

Kevin has dedicated 32 years to CTE, beginning his career as a woodworking teacher and CTSO adviser in rural Kansas schools before joining the faculty at PSU in 2014. Drawing on 20 years of secondary teaching experience, he now prepares the next generation of CTE educators.

Building skills one workshop at a time.

From learning new concepts to applying technical skills in a hands-on environment, participants spent the week in the Advanced Mobile Hydraulic Systems and Hydrostatic Drives workshop engaged, learning, and growing. We appreciate the instructors, industry partners, and students who make opportunities like this possible.

There's something rewarding about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and getting the work done.

In the last two weeks, educators joined us for welding, hydraulics, and professional skills workshops filled with hands-on learning, industry-relevant skills, and great conversations.

We're grateful for the participants, instructors, and team members who helped make these events possible. The work continues - and so do the opportunities to support CTE teachers.

New CTE teachers — there’s still time to join the 2026 New CTE Teacher Workshop on July 13–16, 2026 at Crossland Technology Center/PSU.

This four-day workshop is designed to help new instructors and those transitioning from industry into the classroom build confidence in lesson planning, teaching techniques, student activities, classroom and lab management, safety, liability, accommodations, and assessment.

Participants will leave with ready-to-use instructional materials and valuable strategies for managing a successful CTE classroom and lab.
