The sky was darker and cloudier today than it was yesterday but that didn’t stop us from being outside. And what made today great is that we were having fun while learning outside. A few of our lowerside (elementary) classes got to work and play in our garden and a few of upperside (middle school) classes got show their work on the blacktop with chalk instead of paper and pencil.

It was a beautiful day! So we had some fun inside and outside the classroom! Extended Care had a full day of activities and Middle School enjoyed their electives!

Today, September 14, 2026, marks the 71st birthday of Pope Leo XIV. To celebrate let’s recognize that Pope Leo XIV calls for a “civilization of love” built on practical kindness, compassionate action, and disarming our language.

Growing in Faith. Growing as Educators. Today, Catholic educators from across the Diocese of Oakland came together for an inspiring In-Service Day at Christ The King focused on one important mission: putting our faith into every subject we teach.

We were blessed to learn, reflect, and grow together with guest speaker Brett Salkeld, exploring how faith and learning can be woven throughout the classroom and into the hearts and minds of our students.

As Catholic educators, we are called not only to teach minds, but to help form hearts and lead our students closer to Christ. Thank you Christ The King for hosting everyone!

Today, we pause as a Saint Peter Martyr community to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who showed extraordinary courage and selflessness, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

🙏 As we reflect on the virtue of Patriotism, may we remember that loving our country means honoring those who serve, caring for our communities, standing together in times of need, and striving to be people of peace, compassion, and love.

Yesterday, while our Faith Families were learning about patriotism, our Kindergarten & 2nd Grade Faith Families gathered for Mass in the Juan Diego Building. 🙏

Together, we celebrated the Feast of St. Peter Claver and learned about his life of love, compassion, and service. Students listened to God’s Word, prayed, sang, and reflected on how they can serve others with kindness and a loving heart. ❤️

Growing in faith, one Mass at a time! ⛪️

Today, our 6th, 7th & 8th graders headed to the garden with Mrs. Debra and Mr. Lee! Students played action games, worked together to shovel and prepare the soil for the next harvest, helped with the compost, and explored the garden. 🌿🥕

💧🌎 Faith Families: Caring for Creation! 🌱🙏

Today we learned how water gives life and how we can care for God’s creation through the Season of Creation and Laudato Si’.

Students discussed good and not-so-good choices and moved to different sides of the room to show their answers to questions like, “I throw trash into a river.”

We also created our “River of Promises,” writing one way we will protect and care for water on a water droplet.

Small choices. Big impact! 🌎✨
