Our pre-med and pre-PA students had the opportunity to visit Inspire Health Foundation at CHC in Pittsburg, KS and spend time with Dr. Lovato, a third-year KU-CHCSEK rural family medicine resident and Laken Robinson, a third-year KU med student.

Students heard about Dr. Lovato's path to medicine and gained firsthand exposure to clinical skills used in family medicine, including suturing and point-of-care ultrasound.

Thank you to Dr. Lovato, Laken, and Inspire Health for investing time in our students and providing a meaningful look at careers in rural healthcare. Experiences like these help bring classroom learning to life!

There is a whole world we cannot see, and our microbiology students are learning how to explore it! 🦠🔬 Dr. Ghosh's lab focused on streaking plates to isolate individual microorganisms using selective differential media, a key technique used in research, medicine, and industry. We love seeing students gain real-world laboratory experience through hands-on learning.
