🧑‍🏫 Career & Community Connections students completed their mini FACS 20-minute lesson. They both presented their projects to Mrs. Floyd’s Intro to FCS class.

🧠 Ramon presented over mental health and coping skills during communication (students made rice balloon stress balls).

✈️ Jayden Leavitt presented over the different military branches and students completed a military personality assessment.

Great job to both of these students!

:: A BIG thank you to the Kansas Beef Council for allowing school districts to fill out a grant for beef products for labs. They purchased all of our beef for every lab we completed in all Culinary classes. We received $300 this year!

🥩 🧈 Culinary Arts finished their beef lab cooking their steaks and using compound butter.

Congratulations to the following students who are FACS pathway completers!

A few of them are multiple FACS pathway completers, which means they've put in the extra work to take extra FACS (elective) classes.

I'm proud to be each of your FACS teacher and look forward to watching your growth over the years. All of these students are also leaving with an industry credential and will wear a pink cord/s for the number of FACS pathways they've completed.

Congratulations to the class of 2026, whether I've taught you or not, had you in seminar, etc. Good luck in your future endeavors!

:: Yesterday, Mrs. Floyd's advanced culinary classes experienced some great food in Kansas City yesterday. Culinary Arts wanted Italian cuisine, so we went to the Plaza and ate at Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant. Check out the wall of celebrities who have also eaten their famous spaghetti and meatball dish. The portions were insane, and most of the students were in awe of their plated dishes and flavors. We also went to the Bonito Michoacan, a Mexican grocery store, and some of the students enjoyed spending money on vanilla, candy, beverages, fresh-baked goods, and pork products. Lastly, the dessert of choice was cheesecake, so we walked to the cheesecake factory, and once again, the students were in awe of their plated cheesecakes. Most had a hard time choosing which flavor they wanted to get. We had a great day for our end-of-the-year culinary field trip.

🤰🏼🤱🏼 Our Early Years & Foundations to Early Childhood students had the opportunity to observe a Birthing Simulation at Pittsburg State University today. Missing a few who didn’t make the trip for various reasons but Kinzley Fountain, was able to get all hands on deck delivering the baby girl. We also had the opportunity to check out their Anatomage Table.

🦍 We also had the best tour from our very own, Kenleigh Westhoff, now a PSU Ambassador and student.

Thank you to the wonderful PSU Nursing staff for coordinating our field trip.
