Summer is winding down, but Growing Chatham is sprouting new wisdom!

The August Balancing Act: Squeezing in Summer vs. Shopping for Supplies

August is officially here, beautifully balancing the final hurrahs of summer vacation with the organized chaos of back-to-school preparation. While youth are holding onto every last second of sleeping in, parents are bracing for the return of early morning routines and lunchbox assembly lines. We want to wish our entire community a wonderful start to the upcoming academic year. May your coffee be strong, your school supply lists be fully stocked, and your transition back to the routine be entirely stress-free!

While you balance these final summer moments with your back-to-school preparations, take a moment to unwind with the latest edition of our Growing Chatham newsletter. You can access it here: go.ncsu.edu/growingchatham826

🍉 Watermelon, strawberries, oranges, pineapples, cantaloupes, etc.
🥒 Cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, zucchinis, bell peppers, etc.
🧉Fruit smoothies, coconut water, homemade iced tea, etc.

Don’t forget that all of these food items are SNAP-eligible! If you have any questions about SNAP in North Carolina, contact the More In My Basket team toll-free at 1-855-240-1451.
