The instinct is almost automatic.
They hold it wrong. We correct them.
They crack the egg. A little shell falls in.
And that’s okay. 🥚

Teaching kids to cook doesn’t mean standing back and expecting them to figure out everything on their own. It means knowing when to guide, when to help, and when to give them room to try.

He needed a little help with his thumb placement. He tried again. He noticed the shell. His chef helped him get it out.

No perfect egg crack required.

Because confidence isn’t built by getting everything right the first time. It’s built through guidance, practice, correction, and another chance to try.

That’s what learning in the kitchen actually looks like. ✨

You don’t necessarily need a traditional classroom to teach kids something meaningful.

A CCI program can create opportunities to bring hands-on culinary education into communities through spaces like community and recreation programs, homeschool groups, camps, after-school settings and more.

And you don’t have to start by figuring out an entire children’s cooking curriculum on your own.

CCI Certified Instructors have an established program and 17 years of real-world experience to build from — giving you a foundation for bringing culinary education to young chefs in your own community.

So maybe the question isn’t just “Could I teach kids to cook?”
It’s “Where could I take it?”

What makes a better breakfast?

Of course, we want something that helps fuel growing bodies and busy minds.
But we think there’s something else that makes breakfast pretty great:
When kids have a hand in making it. 🍳

Cracking the eggs. Measuring the ingredients. Washing the fruit. Mixing, pouring, assembling — whatever is appropriate for their age and skill level.

Because breakfast can be more than something we put in front of them.
It can be another opportunity to build confidence, curiosity, and a healthy relationship with preparing their own food.

This Better Breakfast Month, invite your young chef into the kitchen.

A nutritious breakfast is good. ✅ One they helped create? Even better. 💚

What’s your young chef’s favorite breakfast to help make? 👇

There are lots of ways to teach children about kindness and teamwork.

Sometimes, we start with a story. And then we bring the lesson into the kitchen. 🌈

Our preschool chefs use The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister as inspiration for an activity all about sharing and working together.

Each child prepares different colorful vegetables and shares what they’ve made with the group. By the end, all those individual contributions come together to create one very colorful fish.

Because teamwork is easier to understand when kids get to experience what it means to contribute, share and create something together.

And around here, there’s a good chance they’ll get to eat the lesson, too. 😉

What’s your favorite children’s book with a lesson that has stuck with you?

They came. They cooked. They CONQUERED. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🎉

We had so much fun celebrating Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day with our young chefs!

From “Junior Chef in Training” to officially declaring “I TOOK OVER,” there was plenty of cooking, learning, laughing, and kitchen confidence on display. 💚

Because sometimes the best way to celebrate capable kids is to hand them the tools, give them the space, and let them show us what they can do.

Happy Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day from CCI! 🍴✨

Would you let your child use a knife? A grater? Stand at the cooktop?

At CCI, kitchen independence doesn’t mean simply turning kids loose with adult tools. Safety and responsibility come first.

Young chefs learn how to handle real kitchen tools appropriately, respect heat and sharp surfaces, follow instructions, and recognize when they need help.

Because the goal isn’t to keep kids away from every challenging task.
It’s to equip them with the skills they need to handle increasing responsibility safely.

September 13 is Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day, and we’re celebrating the capable young chefs learning how to do exactly that. 💚

There’s a big difference between buying a curriculum and buying 17 years of experience.

Building a children’s cooking program from scratch means figuring out the lessons, progression, classroom management, business logistics, marketing, and all the little things you don’t know you need to know until you’re already doing it.

CCI has spent 17 years learning, refining, teaching, and building that foundation.

So when you become a CCI Certified Instructor, you’re not starting at year one. You’re starting with a proven curriculum, training, resources, and ongoing support already behind you.

Because sometimes the most valuable part of a program isn’t just what’s included — it’s everything you don’t have to figure out alone.
