🎓 Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight 🎓
Congratulations to Reyna Nava Catalan on her outstanding achievements at Jordan-Matthews High and a bright future at UNC Chapel Hill!
A top 10% student and CNA-certified graduate, Reyna earned 1st Place in the NC Spanish FFA Creed Speaking Competition, was named a Norman Borlaug Scholar, and served as a Governor’s Page. Her leadership and service have been recognized through numerous scholarships, including the PZ Heating & Cooling Scholarship, Myrtle Spaugh Reeves Memorial Scholarship, Chatham Farm Bureau Scholarship, Silk Hope Ruritan Scholarship, and El Vínculo Hispano/Hispanic Liaison Scholarship.
Through her involvement in AVID, HOSA, Student Council, Orgullo Latinx Pride, BETA Club, 4-H, and many other organizations, Reyna has made a lasting impact on her school and community. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes at UNC! 💙💛

🎓 Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight 🎓
Join us in celebrating Martha Flores Benitez, recent graduate from Jordan-Matthews High!
Martha plans to attend UNC Greensboro to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture. A Magna Cum Laude graduate, she has earned numerous honors, including HOSA State recognition, science fair awards, and accolades for her artwork in regional competitions and exhibitions.
As Vice President of both HOSA and LEO Club, a Link Crew Leader, tutor, musician, interpreter, and community volunteer, Martha has devoted an estimated 5,000 service hours. She is also a finalist for the Dell Scholars Program and has received a $1,500 scholarship from UNCG.
Congratulations, Martha! Your creativity and commitment to serving others will take you far. We can’t wait to see all you accomplish next! 💙💛

🎓 Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight 🎓
Today we recognize Dulce Zarco Arroyo, a recent graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School! Dulce will be attending UNCG, where she plans to major in Business Administration.
Throughout high school, Dulce's accomplishments include earning Cum Laude Academic Honors, receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Spanish Award, completing a Syracuse University course through JM, and being selected by the BOE to speak about the district’s outstanding Dual Language Program. She was also recognized by local leaders for her participation as a Governor’s Page and was crowned Homecoming Queen.
Dulce’s involvement included serving as SGA President, SGA Vice President, Junior Class Representative, and a student leader in Orgullo Latinx Pride. She also participated in Link Crew, Beta Club, AVID, Unified Club, Pulsera Project, Prom Committee, All Love Club, and more.
We are incredibly proud of Dulce’s achievements and can't wait to see all she accomplishes in the future! 💙💛

🎓 Class of 2026 Senior Spotlight 🎓
Today we're celebrating Jordan-Matthews High School recent graduate, Isabell Capps! This fall, Isabell will attend Central Carolina Community College to pursue a degree in Psychology and to become a therapist who supports children in educational and healthcare settings.
During her time at Jordan-Matthews, Isabell participated in cheerleading and served as a member of the Sources of Strength program, helping promote positivity and support for her peers.
We are proud of all Isabell has achieved and can't wait to see the difference she will make in the lives of others. 💙💛

NCHSAA recognized Jordan-Matthews High School student-athlete Cassidy Graves with the Heart of a Champion Award for extraordinary perseverance, resilience, and positivity in overcoming significant challenges, including early childhood adversity and complete hearing loss.
Supported by the love and dedication of her adoptive parents, Chris and Tina Graves, Cassidy has flourished as a student-athlete whose determination, gratitude, kindness, and uplifting spirit inspire her teammates, school, and community every day. Pictured: Chris Graves, who received the award on Cassidy's behalf.
NCHSAA also recognized Chantel Ayers, Seaforth High School Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach, with the Homer Thompson "Eight Who Make a Difference" Award.
Congratulations to these outstanding ladies and role models.
