HRCA is a 501(c) non-profit, church independent, private Christian school. The school opened its doors in the Fall of 2008, serving grades K-2.

Haw River Christian Academy is a classical Christian school located between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill, NC. Founded in 2007 by a group of local parents, HRCA is modeled after nationally recognized institutions. Since then the school has consistently added at least one grade per year. The plan is to serve Junior Kindergarten through grade 12, respectively as the Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric Schools

At Haw River Christian Academy, graduation is more than the completion of academic requirements - it is the culmination of years spent pursuing truth, goodness, and beauty through a classical Christian education.

Our graduates leave HRCA equipped not only with knowledge, but with wisdom. They have learned to think critically, communicate clearly, and view the world through a biblical lens. They have been challenged in the classroom and supported by a community that desires to see them flourish for the glory of God.

As they step into the next chapter, we celebrate the young men and women they have become. We are grateful for the families and teachers who have walked alongside them, and we look forward to seeing how God will use them in the years ahead.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Your HRCA family is proud of you, and we pray that you will continue to walk humbly, love mercy, and seek Christ in all that you do.

🌍✈️ The Grand Tour: Learning Beyond the Classroom

One of the unique opportunities available to students at Haw River Christian Academy is our Grand Tour, a two-week educational journey through Greece and Italy designed for our rising seniors.

Following in the tradition of classical education, students have the opportunity to stand where history happened, explore the foundations of Western civilization, and experience firsthand the people, places, and ideas they have studied in the classroom. From the ancient ruins of Athens to the streets of Rome, the Grand Tour transforms learning from something students read about into something they experience. It is an opportunity for them to grow in understanding and appreciation for God's providence throughout history while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

At HRCA, we believe education extends beyond the four walls of a classroom, and the Grand Tour is one of the many ways we prepare students to engage thoughtfully with God's world.

A lifelong resident of Chatham County, Lieutenant of Special Operations, Rischetta White, grew up and still lives 2.5 miles from HRCA. She graduated from Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City in 2005. Officer White then earned her BS in Criminology and Psychology from NC State University. She has worked at the Chatham County Sheriff's Office for 11 years across many divisions. This is her favorite assignment, and she is a regular fixture at HRCA. Officer White visits all three of our buildings weekly and has even come to some of our events. Officer White helped to coordinate our lockdown drill and is also involved in the Chatham Crisis Collaboration. This is the partnership we have with Chatham County schools in the event of an emergency.
We are grateful for our partnership with her and the Chatham County Sheriff's Department.
