Safer Faster Defense

Safer Faster Defense Intuitive Tactics and Mindset Development for Personal Protection. It is imperative to prepare our Self to be courageous. What do you choose?

Through education and training I want to give my clients the knowledge and tools to stay safe and to prepare them to prevail in dangerous situations. Wisdom, Courage, Resolve

Wisdom

“Wisdom is to make the best use of knowledge”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon

We know that the mind navigates the body and we understand the necessity to prepare for a confrontation on an emotional and psychological level

, as well as physical. We know that tactics that work intuitively with the body's natural reactions are more efficient and easier to retain. We know that time and resources for training may be limited so we aim to prepare you for the more probable and plausible scenarios in the context of personal protection. We apply this knowledge by working intuitively with the mind and body and focusing only on plausible scenarios, enabling you to deal with a confrontation or an attack in the most efficient way possible, making you safer faster. Courage

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.”
Ambrose Redmoon

An old adage suggests that courage is something you get shortly after you need it. Learning about fear, how it affects our performance and understanding that its true purpose is self preservation, will help us to accept it, control it and transform it into a stimulus to action. Resolve

“Each act is judged by the circumstances of the situation and especially by its motivation. So if someone has a gun and is trying to kill you it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun.”
H.H. the Dalai Lama, Seattle Times, May 15 2001

In a perfect world we would solve everything through non-violent means. This, however, is not a perfect world and it is unfortunate that bad things happen to good people. If you are determined to take responsibility for your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you must come to terms with the notion that, when everything else fails, you will have to use violence to stop the aggressor. We will help you develop emotional triggers and the proper mindset to fight back harder, meaner and more efficiently than the bad guy. Although I don't like violence, I hate the thought of being a helpless victim. This empowers predators to continue hurting innocent people. I choose to prepare to prevail, I choose to fight back.

Personal Defense Network Training Tour was live this past weekend with an awesome 3 day event from the Community Defense course series. We went through Intuitive Defensive Shooting Fundamentals for Pistol and Carbine, Small Unit Tactics, intro to CQB, some night shooting and some shooting around vehicles considerations. Add the great company and a warm campfire for a truly memorable time.

Here are a few more pics from the PDN Tour Small Unit Tactics and Designated Marksman class last weekend. There was a lot of learning during the 2 day course, not just about skills and tactics but also about each student/weapon capacity and limitations. So we all have a lot of homework to do!
The Lowa boots performed very well, kept me dry and comfortable through the rain and scrambling up and down those hills!

We are getting some gear ready for this weekend Personal Defense Network Training Tour class. Small Unit Tactics and Designated Marksman curriculum will see us starting to integrate drones for reconnaissance/surveillance. I'm looking forward to learning new skills this weekend!
Once again .pro gear shines for its quality & design. Turns out, their Modular Task Bag can be set up to carry a drone quite nicely.

I just received a pair of Lowe Zephyr boots. Lowe is one of the Personal Defense Network Training Tour sponsors and it provides each instructor a pair of boots of their choosing, to test and evaluate throughout the training season. I've only used them once so far, and I have already noticed some details that are very functional and practical. Let's take a look!
Fig 1: I mean, they do look good!
Fig 2: nifty " brake" system to "set" the laces tension over the bridge of the foot.
Fig 4: full eyelet instead of hook eyelet keeps the laces where they need to be even when untied.
Think about getting back to camp after a big day of hiking or training, you can untie your laces and release some tension at the break to let them dogs breath a little easier and still walk around and do camp chores without losing a boot or tripping on laces.
Fig.6: that is a solid toe protector!
Fig7: first range session was fun and comfortable .

A few pictures from our Intuitive Defensive Carbine and Teamwork class. Showing one option for a clean and efficient presentation to the rear. Another option would be to short-stock the rifle and "punch it out" toward the threat as your hips and shoulder are starting to be square to the threat. Economy of motion and efficiency are two of the concepts that we discuss during each class, that elicit the biggest lightbulb moments for the students.
From a safety perspective, It is imperative to practice and learn these tactics in a controlled environment first, before applying them during more complex team movements drills.
Train More. Fear Less.
