Bluegrass banjo and guitar taught by ear

Build timing, feel, and creativity through step-by-step lessons designed by pro player Bennett Sullivan (Poker Face, The Greatest Showman, Bright Star on Broadway).

Playing gets a lot more fun when you can follow your ears instead of a page.

That’s why we learn by ear— so we build vocabulary to create our own breaks rather than trying to memorize what’s written on the tab.

It’s musical freedom.

Crosspicking in a nutshell 🌰

Step 1: identify melody
Step 2: know thy chords bc you’ll be crosspicking through chords
Step 3: crosspick through longer melody notes ie bu(!) ry me (!) be neath (!)

Practice in phrases slowly to get transitions between melody and cross picking down. Remember it’s alternate picking (down, up, down, up)

Follow along for more lessons
