Yesterday’s chapels reminded our students that we can choose joy in every circumstance! ☀️

Our elementary students learned from 5th grade teacher Mrs. Jankowsky, who brought the lesson to life as students acted out different situations from the Bible like Paul and Silas, who praised God even in difficult circumstances. What a great reminder that our joy doesn’t depend on what is happening around us!

In our middle and high school chapels, Vinny Fernandez, Youth Pastor from Calvary Chapel Old Bridge, shared from Philippians 4:4-7 about choosing joy, trusting the Lord, and bringing our worries and anxieties to Him. While happiness often depends on our circumstances, true joy is rooted in our purpose and calling in Christ. Even when we face trials and challenges, we can find peace in the Lord!

We’re thankful for these reminders to keep our eyes on Jesus and choose joy each day! 😄

When school began, we highlighted our 1st through 12th graders, but don’t worry, we didn’t forget about our younger learners!

Last week, our Kindergarten classes planted potatoes in the greenhouse with the help of Mrs. Huber, Ms. Gerding, Miss Langhoff, Mrs. Badillo, and Mrs. Barry!

While planting, our students learned:
🥔 The difference between dirt and soil
🪴 Why there are holes at the bottom of their buckets
🌱 How plants grow and what they need to thrive

This hands-on lesson connected perfectly with what they have been learning in Bible class about God’s creation. As they studied Day 3 of creation, they learned that God created dry land and vegetation.

What a fun way for our young learners to explore God’s creation and see what they’re learning in the classroom come to life! 🌿

On Friday we had our Senior DR BBQ!! The seniors flipped burgers and grilled hot dogs to sell at lunch to raise money for their trip to the Dominican Republic! 🍔🌭

Congratulations to our September ROAR Students of the Month!

Middle School:
6th Grade: Samuel A.

12th Grade: Adriane P.

We’re proud of these students for the way they are demonstrating leadership, character, and a commitment to being a light to those around them!

Yesterday, our middle school and high school students gathered for chapel with Evan Chacon, Youth Pastor at Living Word Church.

Evan challenged our students from Matthew 5:13-16 to think about what it means to be set apart and to be a light in the world. Being a light is a privilege, but that light is not just for us. It is for others.

There are people around us who are living in darkness, and the Lord wants to use us to bring His light to them. But how can we be a light to the world if our actions look just like the world?

Evan reminded our students that the testimony and transformation of our lives can show the light of Christ within us. He shared the story of the three men and the fiery furnace as an example of standing firm and being set apart for God.

He closed by praying that the Lord would guide our students and show them how they can be a light wherever He has placed them. 💡

Today our elementary students went on a Kindness Adventure with Ned!

The students learned that kindness is a Fruit of the Spirit and that they can spread it everywhere they go, to everyone they meet!

They also learned in the show about including others, how caring is cool, and that different can be good!

Middle school field day recap!! 🤩

Our middle schoolers kicked off the school year with a field day last Friday! They started the day in worship and with a devotion from Mrs. Saenz about how God has uniquely gifted each one of them. 🏀

Throughout the day they played glow in the dark games like volleyball and capture the flag. Later they played tug of war between the homerooms and had a color wars time to wrap up the fun! 👏

Thank you to all of the teachers, student council members, and administrators who made this awesome day possible for our middle schoolers! 😎

Here are just a few highlights from our high school retreat! 🤩🔦

Our high schoolers had a blast during the Amazing Race, along with all the activities at the retreat center, including zip-lining, rock climbing, the Skywalk, laser tag, volleyball, and team-building activities!

A special thank you to EJ Frain for bringing the Word during our devotion times. Our students had the opportunity to pray, worship, reflect, and seek God together throughout the retreat. 🙌

Overall, it was an incredible time of spiritual growth, fun, and bonding as an entire high school community!
