✈️ One of out second-year genetic counseling student, Nili Lang, traveled to North Carolina to attend the Mowat-Wilson Foundation Conference in support of her master’s thesis research!
Nili’s thesis focuses on Mowat-Wilson syndrome, and the conference was an incredible opportunity to connect with the Mowat-Wilson community, hear directly from individuals and families, and recruit participants for her research study.
We are so proud of Nili for representing our program and for contributing to research that is centered on partnership with the rare disease community. Opportunities like these not only strengthen research but also foster meaningful connections that make a lasting impact.
Way to go, Nili! 💙🧬

Today (April 24, 2026) is Rutgers Giving Day, which provides a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on many different lives. I would like to ask you to join me by making a gift on Rutgers Giving day to the Genetics Counseling Fellowship at https://give.rutgersfoundation.org/genetic-counseling-fellowship/18876.html/?src=WRGD26

100% of all gifts made on Rutgers Giving Days will support educational and professional endeavors for existing or incoming students. This year we are planning to use donations to help our Class of 2027 attend a national professional conference in the Fall which will provide valuable learning and networking opportunities!

The Genetic Counseling Master’s Program comprises five consecutive semesters totaling over 60 credits. The cost is now over $80,000 for out-of-state students. Despite this being the terminal degree, our Master’s students do not receive the same financial support as doctoral students and thus incur significant student loans post-graduation. Graduate students are facing additional challenges with financing their graduate education due to federal changes in borrowing amounts for higher education.

Please consider supporting our efforts!  We know that these talented and hardworking future genetic counseling Master’s students will someday make a difference in patient’s lives.

This year our students have set a goal of $10,000 and we have one day to reach out goal!  No donation is too small (or too large!)!  Every little bit helps!! If you have already made a gift, thank you for your support!
