Our Lakeside Learners in St Marys reached 100% Inkind return for the month of April!! They celebrated by having an Ooey Gooey Day by making Cloud Dough, slime, paint ball throwing, flubber, pudding painting and taking a sensory walk through a variety of materials. The children and teachers had a BLAST together! Wonder what May will look like for 100% Inkind return?

Dressed for the weather ready and for engaging activities at our Jamestown Head Start location. Children created artwork on rocks for game of hide n seek filled with laughter. Sharing the benefits of literacy with families.

Snap-Ed session have resumed in the Adventurers classroom at Fairborn Head Start! Ms. Debbi with the OSU Extension office did a lesson about the food groups this morning!

Our Urbana Head Start friend is keeping herself and her classmates safe by getting the COVID vaccine!

Fairborn Head Start is a “Pinwheel Partner” with Greene County Children Services. Yesterday staff wore blue for “Ohio Wears Blue Day” in honor or Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Piqua’s Family Advocate dressed as Farmer Katie and visited the Wonderland Classroom to teach the children about her farm! With her she brought her baby chick Herbert and Cow, Besse. The children were able to help Farmer Katie milk Besse and had loads of fun!

Our Xenia Head Start staff wore blue yesterday for national child abuse awareness.

Our Jamestown Head Start held a Bike Rodeo on Monday at Frank Seaman Park. The children participated in an obstacle course, and received new helmets donated by Children’s Medical Center. Also, the Jamestown Police stopped by and spoke to the children about bike safety. To end the event, Ms. Amy gave each child a bicycle license!

Ms. Jodi, Ms. Allison and Ms. Katie enjoyed group socialization last week at Charleston Falls with one of our families in Piqua Home Base!

Our Piqua Head Start wrapped up the Week of the Young Child last week. Here are some pictures of the great job the staff did decorating both the inside and outside of the building!

Our ABC class at our Piqua Head Start had a wonderful week celebrating the Week of the Young Child.

Our Greenville Head Start celebrated Work Together Wednesday by creating collages and it was also pajama day too!

Our Stargazer and Sunburst classes at our Piqua Head Start just wrapped up a busy and fun-filled Week of the Young Child! Here are some pictures of all the great activities that were completed!

Our Piqua Head Start continued celebrating the Week of the Young with a fun painting activity! The class painted with natural materials that included pine cones, sticks and rocks. This tied in really well to their theme for the week - our neck of the woods!

Children at our Urbana Head Start have been working hard to decorate the building for Artsy Thursday!

The children in the Explorers and Dreamcatchers classroom, at our Fairborn Head Start, did shape art for Artsy Thursday. The children talked with their classmates and teachers about the different shapes and then used drawing tools to color in the shapes together!

Fairborn infants and toddlers continue to celebrate the Week of the Young Child. The children worked together with their classmates to put together a foam mat as well as worked together to pop bubble wrap by jumping up and down on a long strip of bubble wrap. So fun!

Our Greenville Head Start celebrated "Tasty Tuesday" this week! Each classroom represented a country and made a recipe from that country for everyone to taste! What a delicious idea!

Yesterday our friends at our Piqua Head Start made bear masks and then had a teddy bear picnic on the playground. Everyone enjoyed the yummy lunch of bear shaped sandwiches, broccoli (to resemble trees) and some teddy grahams. We have some creative cooks!

Our Greenville Head Start started Week of the Young Child yesterday. For Music Monday, everyone had a music party in the hallway and also got to wear fun hats!

To kick off the Week of the Young Child, our Urbana Head Start had a special guest! Mr. Bill entertained our friends by playing his guitar and singing to everyone for Music Monday!

Our Moonbeams class from our Piqua Head Start had a fun parent engagement activity last week. They held a color hunt on their playground! Our friends were given a scavenger hunt page with colors of eggs on it. Everyone ran around looking for eggs that matched the colors on the page. It was cold, but fun was had by all!

Our sweet friend Sawyer, from our Sidney Head Start, asked her teacher, Ms. Bobbi, for an employment application. Sawyer said she wants to be a teacher, just like Ms. Bobbi!

Our Xenia Head Start had an impromptu visit from the fire department which turned into a tour of their equipment and answering questions!

Last week our Greenville Head Start had their Dads and Dudes Day Flower Study Celebration!
Our St. Mary's Head Start had a fun time participating in a cardio drumming class!

After reading The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle, the Shining Stars classroom in Urbana made their own spider web with yarn just like the spider in the story.

Our Itty Bitty Bloomers class, at our Sidney Head Start, had fun with paint! Our older friends painted pictures, practiced writing shapes and letters. Our younger friends painted while being taught colors and had fun being messy!!

After reading Dr. Seuss’s “The Foot Book”, the Discoverer’s class at are Fairborn location used baking soda and vinegar to make “Fizzy Foot Prints” using some of are classroom play people!

The Adventurer classroom in Fairborn did some fun large motor activities on a rainy Monday morning!

The Shining Stars classroom, at our Urbana Head Start, read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. They decided to try some green eggs to see if they liked them!
