It’s back! 🎉 We’re excited to announce that our Emerging Leaders class series is returning this fall through Adult Education.

This six-class series is designed for leaders across a variety of industries and backgrounds. You can register for the full series or choose individual classes based on your interests and goals. Classes will take place in our new Health Science Center from 9am-12pm.

We thought we’d "Launch" into the new school year with program spotlights! 🚀 Throughout the school year, we’ll be highlighting each of our programs at UVCC and sharing what makes each one unique.

We’re starting off strong with Launch, one of our Transitional Access programs!

Launch is a one-year high school transition program for individuals with disabilities ages 18-22. The program provides training and education designed to help students build skills for community employment and life after high school.

A key part of Launch is total immersion in a large business, giving interns the opportunity to gain meaningful, real-world work experience based on their individual abilities, interests and needs. Through three rotations, interns explore a variety of work settings, including Nutrition, Rehabilitation, Linens, Cancer Care, Environmental Services and more.

Launch is made possible through the ongoing collaboration of UVCC professionals, interns, their families and community partners. 💙

Meet Sebastian Monnin, a senior in our Automotive Technologies program! 🚗🔧

Through UVCC’s Work-Based Learning program, Sebastian gets hands-on experience at Ohio Department of Transportation's Sidney Service Garage, where he’s learning a variety of skills that help keep ODOT’s fleet of vehicles on the road.

Sebastian enjoys the work he gets to do, and his supervisor has been pleased with his performance, sharing that Sebastian is always on time and ready to do what is asked of him. We love seeing our students gain valuable, real-world experience while preparing for their future careers!

Interactive Media juniors spent their first day getting to know their classmates and practicing their communication and teamwork skills! 🤝

Students worked in teams to build a tower using cups, string and other office supplies. A fun way to kick off the year.

Senior SkillsUSA officers kicked off the year by visiting all of our junior SkillsUSA labs yesterday! 🎉 They introduced our incoming members to SkillsUSA, shared what they can expect this year, and helped get them excited for everything ahead. 🏆
