Have you ever understood every single word somebody said and still thought, “Okay… but what did you MEAN?” You’re allowed to ask: “Wait, when you said that, did you mean this… or this?” That’s not failing at communication. That IS communication.

Explain this: you can spend three hours completely locked into something you love… but starting one ten-minute assignment feels impossible. Instead of telling yourself, “Just do it,” make the first step ridiculously clear. What is the FIRST thing you actually need to do?

Okay, why is nobody else bothered by that sound? The clock. Somebody chewing. The buzzing light. And now that you’ve noticed it, you CANNOT stop hearing it. Start noticing your pattern: which sounds get harder to filter when you’ve already had a lot of input?

You already know what the plan is. You’ve got the whole thing mapped out in your head. And then somebody goes, “Oh, actually, we’re doing something else.” UGH. Is the NEW plan actually the problem, or did your brain just need a little more time to switch gears?

Has somebody ever said one weird thing to you and three hours later you’re STILL thinking about exactly how they said it? Ask yourself: did I get any new information, or am I just replaying the same thing? Sometimes the fastest way to know what somebody meant is to ask.

Have you ever gotten home from school and somebody asks you a totally normal question and you’re like, “Please. Do not talk to me right now.”? That’s useful information. Start figuring out what actually helps you reset after a really full day.

Do you ever have a day when everybody is just… annoying? They’re too loud. They’re talking too much. They keep asking you things. Maybe everybody isn’t suddenly more annoying. Maybe your brain is telling you, “I’ve had enough input for right now.”

Do you ever know EXACTLY what you want to say… until somebody puts you on the spot and suddenly you’ve got nothing? If this happens to you, try buying your brain a second: “Hang on. I know what I want to say.”
