• Hispanic Heritage Month • Continuing our celebrating of Hispanic Heritage month with a few cultural dress up days next week. Show up and show out! Along with Ms. Rylant, our Unidos Leadership Club put together a mural to display facts from each country that include famous people, delicious foods, and history. Hispanic Heritage is alive and well at RMS! The Unidos Leadership Club is a new program here at Rudd that aims to build leadership and communication skills, organize cultural events, and mentor new students to Rudd through bilingual mentorship.

• From Recipe to Results: First Kitchen Lab Success • Looking back and celebrating Ms. Wallace’s first kitchen lab last week. Our students kicked off their first lab by spending the early part of the week dissecting a recipe line by line. By the end of the week, they put their reading and precision measuring skills to work making buffalo chicken dip. Nothing beats learning practical life skills you can actually taste! Way to go Ms. Wallace for getting your students engaged and involved in hands on learning experiences! Swipe through the pictures and take a look at all our students hard at work! 🙌

• Attendance Matters • Showing up to school every day is one of the most powerful steps toward a successful school year! When our students are here, they are learning, growing, and building bright futures. To celebrate our students’ dedication, we are rolling out a variety of exciting attendance incentives this year and we are proud to announce our very first award! Congratulations to our 7th grade Attendance Champions! For the month of August, the 7th grade students with the highest attendance percentages were rewarded with a Dave & Busters Play Card! Thank you for setting such a fantastic example and making every day count. This is just the beginning of the amazing rewards and incentives we have lined up for our students this year. Stay tuned, keep showing up, and let’s keep attendance high!

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
As we enjoy a well-deserved day away from school, let’s take a moment to remember what Labor Day truly represents: the people whose hard work, dedication, and sacrifice have helped build our communities and our country.
Today, we celebrate every worker — past and present — whose efforts make a difference, often in ways we don’t always see. From educators and first responders to farmers, healthcare workers, tradespeople, business owners, and so many others, our communities are stronger because of the people who show up and do the work. ❤️
We hope our students, families, and staff enjoy this day to rest, recharge, and spend time with the people they love.

📚 Reminder: There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7.
📚 Tuesday, September 8 is E-Learning day.

We’ll see everyone back at school on Wednesday!

Have a safe, happy, and meaningful Labor Day! 🇺🇸

• Wild about our future • College football is back, so let’s welcome it in by repping your college colors on Friday, Sept. 4! Whether your college is SEC, ACC, JUCO, HBCU, or any other college out there, show that pride! As part of our homecoming week dress up days Friday is the first of a WEEK of showing school spirit so toss on some safari wear as well! Khaki pants, explorer vests, binoculars, anything to keep you prepared out there in the “wild.” Since our school week is cut short for Labor Day and E-learning day, we’re starting early to fit in as much school pride and spirit as we can. Please remember that ALL spirit day wear must abide by the RMS dress code.

It’s time! Football season is back. Stay tuned in for all the spirit days, dress up info, and recaps. This week RMS takes on the Pleasant Grove Spartans with a home field advantage on Thursday, September 3. We’re “conquering the Spartans” this week so show up Thursday in white and rocking those crowns. Please remember that all spirit day wear MUST still follow the RMS dress code. Show up early, stay late, and show spirit by coming out to support our RMS football team and cheerleaders on Thursday night.
