Kermit Johnson Elementary School Johnson Elementary School serves roughly 700 students in grades 3-5. April 17, 2017.

Other schools in our feeder pattern include Pinson Elementary School, Rudd Middle School, and Pinson Valley High School. This is the OFFICIAL Kermit Johnson Elementary page, managed by Kermit Johnson Elementary teachers and staff. We will use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to celebrate, brag, and share positive comments about our students, parents, staff and school. Please come to the school to voice concerns and negative comments in person so that we can work together.

🦺💡 SAFETY FIRST AT KERMIT JOHNSON! 💡🦺

At Kermit Johnson Elementary School, safety is more than something we talk about: it’s something we practice every single day!

Mr. Howard and Mrs. Craig are committed to safety to school, safety at school, and getting every student safely home. From arrival in the morning to dismissal in the afternoon, keeping our students safe remains one of our highest priorities.

And when it comes to spreading the message about safety, Mr. Howard understood the assignment! 😂
He suited up in his safety gear and made sure everyone knew that keeping our Indians safe is serious business, but we can have a little fun while doing it!

It takes all of us working together: administrators, teachers, staff, families, bus drivers, and students. Together, we can help make every school day a SAFE and successful day!

🎉 PLEASE JOIN US IN WELCOMING OUR NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL! 🎉

The Kermit Johnson Elementary School family is excited to officially welcome Mrs. Richell Yarbrough-Craig, Ed.S., as our New Assistant Principal.

Mrs. Craig brings 23 years of experience in education, with a background that includes teaching students in grades 1st-6th and serving in school administration as an Assistant Principal. She is passionate about supporting students, encouraging teachers, building meaningful relationships with families, and helping create a positive school culture where every child can learn, grow, and succeed.

Her personal motto, “Every child, every day!”, reflects the heart she brings to her work and her commitment to ensuring that every student feels seen, supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.

Although Mrs. Craig is new to Kermit Johnson, she says she already feels right at home! From the warm welcomes and smiling faces to the genuine support she has received from our faculty, staff, students, families, and community, she is grateful to be part of such a special school family.

Mrs. Craig is excited to work alongside Principal Howard, our incredible teachers and staff, and the entire Kermit Johnson community as we continue building a school where students thrive, teachers feel supported, families feel connected, and everyone has an opportunity to BE THE LIGHT! 💡✨
