St. Joseph School

With love and gratitude, we remember Fr. Paul Schmidt, our former pastor, who passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 87. During his nine years as our pastor, he faithfully shepherded our parish with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering devotion. We are deeply grateful for his life and ministry. May he rest in the peace of Christ.

Funeral Liturgies
📍 Christ the Light Cathedral, Oakland

• Tuesday, August 11
3:30–6:00 p.m. – Visitation
6:00 p.m. – Vigil Liturgy

• Wednesday, August 12
10:00 a.m. – Funeral Mass, followed by a simple reception
2:00 p.m. – Burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Hayward

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
