🎓 Exploring What’s Possible Beyond Piney Woods
Our learners had the opportunity to attend the Jackson Area College Fair, connecting with representatives from colleges and universities across the country and exploring opportunities that align with their academic, personal, and career goals.
From HBCUs and liberal arts colleges to military academies, STEM programs, and institutions across the South and beyond, our learners asked questions, gathered resources, and began thinking intentionally about what comes next.
As they develop their Top Ten College Lists, these experiences are helping them take the next step toward a future filled with purpose and possibility.🌱

🐐 Growing Agriculture. Growing Opportunity.

A big thank you to State Representative Lance Varner and his wife, Lacey Varner, owners of Varner Farms, for donating two additional show goats to The Piney Woods School’s livestock program!
With their generosity, our program now has four goats, giving learners even more hands-on opportunities to develop skills in animal care, livestock judging, teamwork, and responsibility.
We’re grateful to the Varners for investing in our learners and helping us grow opportunities in agricultural education.

Yesterday, our learners stepped onto campus ready for a new year of growth, discovery, and purpose—and for the Class of 2027, it marked a very special milestone: their last first day of school at Piney Woods. 🎓
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, our theme reminds us that the work we do, the choices we make, and the legacy we build extend far beyond ourselves:
“It’s Bigger Than Me.”
This year, we challenge every learner to lead with purpose, serve others, embrace every opportunity, and recognize the impact they can make within our Piney Woods community and beyond.

🌱✨ The Piney Woods Summer Camp Experience: Where Learning Comes to Life.🌱
Our Ag & STEM Summer Camp gave learners the opportunity to explore, create, discover, and dream bigger.
From building STEM projects and exploring agriculture to visiting college campuses and engaging with professionals across a variety of fields, campers experienced firsthand what it means to learn by doing. Along the way, they developed new skills, built confidence, formed lasting friendships, and discovered new possibilities for their futures.

At The Piney Woods School, we believe campus is the classroom, the land is the lab, and every experience is an opportunity to inspire purpose, leadership, and lifelong learning.
